Just read one of the Original Captain America stories from 1941 where the German American Bund..the main US Nazi organization..is terrorzing German Americans who refuse to join .They make the mistake of beating up the father of one of Bucky's friends and Cap and Bucky clean out "Camp Nordland". A lot of fun.

In the real world, Nazi supporters came to the Timely offices to try to threaten and intimidate the writers and artists. It's been said that Jack Kirby, who eventually became the inspiration for The Thing, had to be restrained from going down to the lobby and getting into a fight with them. He was later drafted and fought actual Nazis.

He could, by being the creator of Captian America, have gotten a soft job in Army PR, but he fought to get put into a combat unit. I wonder if the screen writers of "Captain America:First Avenger" knew this and sort of wrote it into the film .

I'm sure they're hoping for new recruits, but that's better than the so-called "Christians" in this country that suddenly act very un-Christ like when people need help. The Mormons seem to have a better track record than many for practicing what they preach.

Just FYI, The Rabbit Proof Fence is in a different state a thousand miles away (Western Australia), and it was to keep our feral rabbits under under control (it didn't). They don't normally preach unless they're literally on a mission. You can spot the missionaries from a mile away. Usually, but not always, two guys about 18, wearing dark suits with white shirts on bicycles. Girls do missions, too, but not nearly as often as the boys. They usually go for the year after graduating high school and can be sent anywhere in the world. My eldest BIL did his in S. Dakota while my step-SIL did hers in Russia.

My cousin got sent home from his mission in disgrace because he was going out with a girl on the down low which is against the rules. I was so proud of him! :D When my husband's bio father asked him if he was going to go on mission, he said "Yes...Mission Beach, San Diego!"

So according to Wheeler, it was EXACTLY the right thing to do, but they won't do it anymore because it makes him look bad. Going forward, he will do something worse as long as it doesn't cost him votes.

Maybe not but one of the tenets of their religion is that young people need to serve 2 years in their missionary service. And in doing that they often can be seen, 2 young men in suits and ties knocking on doors to preach.

Missions aren't compulsory, but they are very much encouraged and it's understood that 'good' Mormons go on one...especially boys.

What the "stop the steal" debacle showed, even in its failure, is how much of our electoral system relies on a fairly small number of low profile office holders doing their duty faithfully.

Driving out responsible people and replacing them with fascists and their enablers is a tactic that could pay huge returns for future races that hinge on disputes in swing states.

This just goes to show how sick some of these "stop the steal" idiots are. When they lay down with Trump, they got up with more than fleas. But your concern about the integrity of poll watchers is well founded. Some of the laws states are passing concerning them is frightening.
