Because he keeps bringing this up, I'm sure now that this will be his escape clause for not debating Biden.

Biden should offer to take a drug test before the debate as long as trump takes one too.

It's possible that she'll maintain her stance. If I understand her voting history correctly, though, she has quite the history of reversing course if her vote actually matters.

I have no faith in her.

Going further, politically, there's more than one side to this. If she supports Trump/McConnell, her opposition will be energized even more and some fence-sitters will desert her. If she doesn't, she'll be alienating the people who are most likely to vote for her.

Don't hold your breath. You'll be a skeleton long before she breaks party ranks. Her schtick has always been to put on a concerned face and express "deep concern" over whatever anti-democratic measures the republicans are pushing and then to turn around and be the first to vote for them. Her voting with Trump record is at 94% and she always had high party line voting records, no matter how wrong she publicly said the thing she was voting for was.

And that one time was only "won" by some very heavy cheating, voter supression, non counting of votes, deliberately putting broken voting machines in Democrat voting areas and the resumption of Jim Crow era "voting tests".

To be fair, there's a lot more in the way of feedback loop between Trump and Fox than anything adversarial - especially when it comes to the relationship between Trump and Hannity, who's been known at times as basically a shadow chief of staff. Still, to be clear, are you actually seriously not aware of how influenced by Fox News Trump is? The sheer number of tweets reacting to one thing or another that was on Fox, alone, should clue you in a bit on the influence there.

I disagree. Facing reality is more a sign of good mental health than running away from the truth with self-delusion. It's when you can handle reality well with as little self-delusion as possible (it's effectively impossible to get rid of all self-delusion, regardless) that you can be said to be mentally healthy and if you add facing tough circumstances to that, then you can truly be said to be mentally strong. Running away is certainly easier, though.

I've seen a couple of reports on CNN that have followed the timeline. Carlson or Hannity say something ridiculous, and a short time later (sometimes minutes) Trump is parroting the same thing as if it was his own idea, often using the same words. This has often made me think that it's not Trump that is the most powerful person in the world, it's those guys.

First off re the highlighted, it's bogus. He didn't fund his own campaign and I doubt you can find any reliable source that he's a billionaire besides himself and sources that regurgitate his claims.

As for the Mueller report, the public has yet to see what the report says because Barr lied about what's in it and there are redacted parts few people have seen. And it's quite absurd to claim Trump is clean when multiple people running his campaign were indicted and convicted.


It will say Trump was a pathologic narcissist who was the most corrupt POTUS in American history. It will say Putin exploited this to his advantage.

I'm not sure what you think your lengthy rant is supposed to mean, but Mueller did not investigate Trump's taxes or his lifetime financial corruption. The Mueller probe was restricted to looking for criminal interference in the 2016 election. There's no doubt that Trump has cheated on his taxes, consorted with organized crime and laundered money for Russian gangsters for decades. We may never know the extent or the details.

It's an activity that combines: minimal physical exertion, minimal physical coordination, a child-level understanding of a centuries-old system of communication, an ability to read, and a desire to intake information from a source other than television. None of those things is in Trump's wheelhouse, and several of them are outright anathema to him.

You left an important Senator out. The Arizona election is a special one in that it is a replacement for McCain's seat for which McSally was appointed. Mark Kelly, a Democrat, is going to win that election and he doesn't have to wait for January 2021 to be seated. He can take office as soon as the election results are certified. That is a sure vote for the Dems and he can be seated as soon as the end of November.
