It's gotten much harder to induce automotive CO poisoning - something about catalytic converters. No, I was talking about people smashing their cars into bridge abutments, or vaulting into the Grand Canyon, or just stepping out in freeway traffic, which is not at all fair to the guy in the tractor-trailer rig that mows you down, but it happens.

I don't know. Some things haven't changed enough since 2009. U.S. media as far as I can tell is still extremely squeamish about some things. It's practically verboten to show a corpse. Which I get, from a sensitivity viewpoint. But it's just not like that in some countries, and it didn't used to be like that here, either. It was assumed that people would survive watching something upsetting.

There would be plenty of reasons to rationalize covering Parscale's case, but him giving up his right to privacy isn't a big issue for me. It's not about his rights but about a news organization's general practices. I do have to keep remembering, however, that my information is out of date.

The trump presidency is based on lies. As debate moderator Chris Wallace noted last night, in 2016 trump campaigned against the Affordable Care Act saying he had a cheaper, better plan. Four years later he has never put forward any such plan. In 2017 trump inherited a rising economy which he has continually claimed credit for. Credit for what? There was no 'turnaround' after trump took over. Just a continuation of trends that began around 2011.

It's all lies. And that's his 'talent.' Being able to look people square in the eye and lie his butt off.

He also inherited a post-fact society that makes even the most transparent lies possible.

It's trivially easy to show a trumpkin a graph that shows unemployment plummeting in the years before Trump took office. Yet lots of trumpkins believe it's thanks to Trump, and that he's even "done more for African-Americans than anybody else" because unemployment is low for them, too.

Yeah. It does service to the concept of "Truth" to even call Trump a liar.

A liar is someone who says something knowing it is false. Trump has no concept of true or false. He can't lie, he's not honest enough.
