Greene has once again decided to pick a stupid fight.

Her fight this time is with a person that she that she knows very little about.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's 'Incoherent' Twitter Fight With Robert Reich Is A Doozy

Quote:

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) launched a stupefying Twitter attack Sunday on former Labor Secretary Robert Reich after he called for her expulsion from the House. He further irked the conspiracy-loving lawmaker by misspelling her last name.

...

“Can we all agree that Marjorie Taylor Green must be expelled from Congress?” he wrote.

To which Greene, a QAnon supporter who lost her House committee assignments for advancing baseless conspiracies, replied with a spelling error of her own (“Berkley”) and her usual ad hominem drivel:

“It’s Greene with an “e” on the end. Don’t know you, but when I saw Berkley in your bio, I got it. Just put the hammer and sickle with it. Being a communists professor, you’ve never done the real hard work that builds the economy, you just teach ideas that will destroy it.”

One of Reich’s many books is titled “Saving Capitalism.”

Yup, they think they are the only 100% Americans.
Which brings us George Bernard Shaw's comment on the 100% Americans o the 1920's:
"The 100% American is a 1000% idiot".

I have to agree with that. I find the more 'loudly, proudly' and over the top 'patriotic' someone professes to be, the more stupid they tend to be. I mean, seriously:

It's not the patriotism I find bad, but that only White Christian Americans can be true patriots in these idiot's eyes. And there are signs that Christian in that is turning into "Protestent" again.

It's really interesting. Greene and others know that their constituents have no idea what communism is besides "bad", and they just wantonly label everything they disagree with as "communist" to exploit that.

Well we all know that Episopalians are not really Protesents..and, Ironically enough, Lutherans are suspect also.

A tactic that can be easily exploited, if played right. If you can manipulate her to start labelling everything in sight as "communist" including her own party members and policies then her abject stupidity becomes a national joke.

Real patriots don't constantly need to be declaring how "patriotic" they are by flying a gazillion flags from their trucks, wearing it as every conceivable piece of clothing they can imagine. What they're really doing is virtue signaling.

Kevin McCarthy has finally officially condemned MTG's 'star' comment....after FIVE days:
Quote:

“Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling. The Holocaust is the greatest atrocity committed in history. The fact that this needs to be stated today is deeply troubling.

“At a time when the Jewish people face increased violence and threats, anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Democrat Party and is completely ignored by Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“Americans must stand together to defeat anti-Semitism and any attempt to diminish the history of the Holocaust.

“Let me be clear: the House Republican Conference condemns this language.”
Of course, he has to lie and include this little gem: "anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Democrat Party and is completely ignored by Speaker Nancy Pelosi."

Ilhan Omar was rebuked not only by Pelosi but by fellow Democrats when she made her anti-Semitic "“It's all about the Benjamins baby,” quip back in 2019.
Quote:

“Congresswoman Omar’s use of anti-Semitic tropes and prejudicial accusations about Israel’s supporters is deeply offensive,” said Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn and other party leaders in a statement. “We condemn these remarks and we call upon Congresswoman Omar to immediately apologize for these hurtful comments.“
She was forced to apologize:
Quote:

"My intention is never to offend my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole. We have to always be willing to step back and think through criticism, just as I expect people to hear me when others attack me for my identity. This is why I unequivocally apologize."
It's a good thing McCarthy doesn't burst into flames every time he lies or he's be nothing but a charred POS by now.

This wasn't really anti-semitic - it was anti-lobbyists giving money to politicians, much like her stance on the NRA, Heritage Action, and so on. It was treated as anti-Semitic by the same people who mostly didn't mind Dolt 45 repeatedly and clearly stating that Jewish Americans have dual loyalties to Israel, however.

McCarthy's also whining about the disgust much of the left has towards Netanyahu's treatment of Palestinians, in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza. I'm also disgusted by Netanyahu, as are many Jewish Americans I've spoken to.

The problem here is people like Kevin McCarthy and his fellow GQPers are too stupid to understand the fact that being anti-Israel doesn't mean you are anti-Semitic.

You're absolutely right; poor wording on my part. I agree 100% about Netanyahu and the difference between being antisemitic* and not necessarily being pro-Israeli policies and their treatment of Palestinians.

*The ADL had adopted this spelling.

I expect you could pick anybody at random off the street in Bakersfield and they would probably do better.

Or anywhere else for that matter.

The Repugnican Party seems to have honed their ability to pick the most disgusting people possible to serve in their party to a needle point.

Some are so desperate, they're even willing to be members of Congress.

I have a niece who lives in Bakersfield. To say it's an armhole pit is an understatement. Her ex-husband committed suicide by cop there last year. No lie.

Well, unfortunately, many of us think that America is truly deplorable. We could keep silent about that, but ... heck, this is not the place to do that.
