There was a comic strip I saw years ago in which a woman and her husband approached a newsstand to talk to the vendor.
"Excuse me. What kind of items do you sell here?"
"Why, only the finest periodicals intended to entertain and educate."
"Educate? You mean expose me to opinions different than my own?"
"Yes ... ?
"Sigh. Come on, Henry. Let's try the next one."

@AOC you've never thrown anyone out of a bar...
Two worlds collide!

Marj, it's not the kind of bar you're familiar with. The bar where Ocasio-Cortez served drinks is located in Union Square in Manhattan. It's got a funky, ironic name: "Flats Fix." Here's the story:

Quote:

Flats Fix Taco Y Tequila Bar is brought to you by the team behind the iconic Union Square Coffee Shop, Live Bait, and Luna Park. Born from an old garage on Union Square, the name harkens back to the classic New York storefronts scattered around the city that repair tire flats in 5 minutes. In one such garage, the wife of the owner prepared the most delectable tacos while you waited, thus the idea was born to reinvent the concept to bring those flavors to diners as a true restaurant.

We use a variety of the finest cuts of meat, poultry and fish and house rub and smoke them in our custom smokehouse and serve them on corn tortillas with a variety of toppings complementing their flavor and texture. We also feature a great list of Mexican beers and serve a full complement of craft cocktails and tequilas. link to Flats Fix website
I can almost hear Marj's reaction, "WTH?!?" Sweetie, don't strain your brain. Not your kind of place. You wouldn't like it.

Here's a photo of AOC while still behind the bar. Looks like a pretty sedate spot, don't it?

But the really sad part is, she has no idea just how stupid and juvenile she looks to the majority of people in this country. But then again, the majority of people in this country aren't her market or her concern: it's the smaller but significant percentage of idiots who she can con into sending her money. She's learned well from Donny.

Anthony Aguero, who calls Marjorie Taylor Greene “one of my closest friends,” is on video at the January 6 insurrection and he doesn’t look at all like the “independent journalist” he has claimed to be.
This is the guy getting a kick out of peering in through AOC's mail slot.

Didn't MTG post a Tweet during the insurrection disclosing where Pelosi was?

That was the other idiot, Lauren Boebert. But I understand conflating the two. One idjit is easily confused with the other.

I was coming here to mention this one! Here's a lovely quote:

"In a statement, Greene’s office told Gray to mind his own business and called it a “pathetic smear” when he asked them about the homestead exemptions."

Yeah, telling a reporter to mind his own business. That always works!

This is tax fraud, a criminal offence.

MTG and her sucker of a husband ought to be prosecuted... but they won't be.

The Great Zaganza 14th May 2021 10:09 PM

MTG's confrontational approach to fellow members of Congress is exemplary of the Gingrich-Republican who doesn't believe in Representative Democracy, only in Dominance when possible, Obstinance otherwise.
It's nothing new, just more in-your-face and physically aggressive.

Silver nitrate solution. Not only stains brown, but long-term brown because it doesn't wash out.

True! I just liked the fact she would have to be involuntarily brown for a while, and have to deal with that. Although with her mental deficits, that learning curve opportunity would be completely missed.

Speaking of which:

I liked Don Lemon's comment tonight -- "One of these days she's going to mess with the wrong... person, and then it's gonna be.... mmm-hmmmm!" I imagine he was going to say "wrong woman", perhaps someone like Maxine Waters. That would be fun to see.

That door opens to a waiting area, with a receptionist or something at most, unless they had guests sitting there. Even if AOC were there, she'd likely be in her own separate office, or maybe a high-level staff member's room, with it's own door, and never noticed their creepy antics.

*sigh*

...and no, none of the black or brown women in congress will be seen giving this stupid blond bitch the beating she obviously needs, if only because the Fox News interviews would result in an unending torrent of death and rape threats. But you can imagine AOC just cussing her out and holding her up by the hair in one hand and punching her face with the other and smile. I know I did.

If it's MTJ vs. AOC or any prominent Dem womon in an actual bitch fight,* my money is on her. She's one of those muscled-up old sisters who can deliver a serious punch, and undoubtedly grapple if it goes to the floor. And: She can take blows to the head from morn to tea-time and never feel a thing, for the good reason that her rather small cranium is just a neck that haired over. Nothin' up there to hurt. Hell no I'm not kidding.

* Congress, over its long history, has witnessed more unseemly things. Calm your thoughts, folks. These squalid times will mend.

Except that the target of the TP knows that they were pranked. AOC likely didn't know about this mail slot stupidity until the video got its current attention.

Perhaps someone has made one already, but it would be funny to have an overdub of silly responses to MTG's pleas.

Do not mess with women bartenders. Worked with many. My best friend is 100 pounds maybe and she doesn't tolerate BS. The night I met her she'd just finished yelling at some guy (loud bar).

A lot of the attitude comes from dealing with guys like MTG.

My former next-door neighbour's oldest daughter was a bartender at a local bar. Eight stone of sheer fury if you crossed her (think Tecia Torres), and yes, she has thrown out men much bigger then herself.

Would there really be any downside for Greene, politically speaking, if she were to physically assault someone like AOC, Ilhan Omar, or other evil Democrats while on the House floor.

Her base of support comes from belligerent reactionaries. It's not like she's spending much time doing any real legislative work, she's purely a token of conservative grievance and outrage. If anything, physically attacking on of the right's most dire enemies would only boost her credibility.

Can we really say with any certainty that the rest of the Republican party would disown such an antic?

I wouldn't be surprised if something of that nature happens in the near future.

Even if there was some criticism of her actions from the GOP it would be muted and temporary. Maybe a couple of senior people may make tangential reference to "over enthusiasm" or "a little too much patriotism" but as soon as it becomes clear that MTG has enhanced her position within the party, they'll claim that any criticism was taken out of context. ;)
