I think it's more of a "Shame if something were to happen to this place" while deliberately bumping into a vase and knocking it over. It's a power play taunt, you bring em back to the negotiation table then grind the table up in a wood chipper. Doubt much if he cares that some of his party get sucked into the chipper as well. Just anything to hold over people's heads till after the election.

For ultimate safety, Trump should be sealed into a completely airtight plexiglass box. That would prevent any risk of him infecting others, or getting a secondary infection himself. Win/win!

Does Trump understand Powell's position? It seems unlikely since he was cheering on McConnell for not moving forward on the House stimulus bill.

Surely the only safe thing is to have Trump isolated entirely, since we know he has covid? We live in 2020. Insist that the debate be conducted over the air, with Drumpf in the White House or Walter Reed, and Biden, well, wherever he pleases. Trump will refuse, but then Biden can weaponise this as another sign Trump cares nothing about covid safety.

newyorkguy 6th October 2020 04:10 PM

It's like the whole world is watching as trump slowly (and publicly) loses his freakin' mind! As several persons have already posted, just when you think we've hit bottom it gets worse. :(

To poke at a couple things -

Nationwide: Biden Leads By 8 Points After Acrimonious Debate, Before Trump Is Hospitalized; After Trump Medevaced To Walter Reed,
Biden Lead Doubles to 16; Averaging All Likely Voters, Contest At This Hour Stands Biden 53%, Trump 43%; Volatile, Fluid, Could Change:

Quote:

Of likely voters interviewed by SurveyUSA after Trump and Biden debated 09/29/2020 but before Trump had revealed his COVID diagnosis, Biden led Trump by 8 points, 51% to 43%. In the tiny window of time between when Trump acknowledged his illness but before he was hospitalized, Trump closed to within 4 points, Biden 50%, Trump 46. In interviews completed after Trump had been helicoptered to Bethesda, Biden appears to have consolidated support, leading by 16 points among likely voters interviewed most recently, 56% to 40%
Looks like Trump in the hospital did hurt him notably.

Elsewhere -

Subject of Project Veritas Voter Fraud Video Says He Was Offered $10,000 to Lie About Ballot Harvesting for Ilhan Omar

Just in case that comes up.

Elsewhere, for a moment of levity, looks like the DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN picture has been edited to say TRUMP DEFEATS COVID and is supposedly being loved on right-wing social media.

I'm actually impressed they've managed to shut down their brains enough to simultaneously go "covidvirus no worse than flu u get well rite away trigerd libs lololol" and "our strong hero twump beat horrible chinavirus bigly!! yuge success!"

I mean, I've seen them go from "twump's done more to fight virus than anyone!" to "of course twump can't fight virus, as president he can do nothing!", but at least they didn't say those two things at the same time.

To have cognitive dissonance, the cognitive part has to be functioning first.

Well, to quote F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Quote:

“The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless yet be determined to make them otherwise.”
The latter parts being the important ones, you don't just stop at holding two, or professing two opposing ideas. You have to functionally work to the realization of one.

I don't even think it is the roids that is the primary driver here. Who in the world is wondering, "What happened to Donald Trump? He was such a rock of stability - a stable genius if you will. Something seems to have intervened. I know! It must be the steroids!"

Trump is and has always been a petulant child who finds it hard to separate what is happening to him as what is happening in the universe in general.

The roids only keep him upright when he should be in bed recuperating.

Think of it: The entire time that Steele's primary source Danchenko was employed at Democrat think tank the Brookings Institution he was under investigation by the FBI as a Russian spy

B/t 2009-2011, while Carter Page was acting as a CIA informant providing intel on Russia, the FBI was investigating Igor Danchenko as a Russian spy. But as soon as Page joined Trump campaign, FBI flipped the script & framed Page as the Russian spy, using Danchenko as an informant

BREAKING: When Democrat Sen Mark Warner's intelligence committee staff interviewed Sam Patten re his ties to Kilimnik, Patten denied Kilimnik was a Russian intelligence officer,to which Warner's staffer snapped: "How would you even know what an intelligence officer looked like?!"

Never before in the history of country have so many Washington elite blithely labeled a sitting president "racist" or "a Russian agent" w 0 evidence to back up such serious charges. & instead of demanding evidence, the Washington press corps just chimes in

The only poll that matters is the poll on Election Day at your polling place. #GOTV

BREAKING: House investigators have now joined the Senate in requesting the FBI open a criminal investigation into possible foreign influence-peddling & embezzlement involving Joe Biden and his younger brother and son based on suspicious financial activities flagged by US Treasury

BREAKING: FBI Dir Wray insisted IG redact Footnote 334 in IG report, which revealed the FBI had previously investigated Steele dossier's primary subsource Danchenko as a suspected Russian spy. Danchenko unnamed in footnote. Concealing note merely spared FBI added embarrassment

BREAKING: New agent 302s reveal McCabe directed the Flynn investigation & may have had a conflict of interest, since McCabe had a personal grudge against Flynn for standing up for a female FBI counterterrorism supervisor who filed a sexual discrimination complaint against McCabe

BREAKING: According to 302 interview summary, FBI case agent Barnett testified that Special Counsel prosecutor Jeannie Rhee, a big Hillary supporter, was "obsessed" with Flynn & Russia and "had an agenda." He said he became concerned about a "get Trump" attitude by Mueller's team
