At the Duluth rally Trump said "Biden will turn Minnesota into a refugee camp"
In a state with one of the largest Somali populations in the country,
Trump goaded the crowd in to booing refugees and "lock her up!" chants directed at Ilhan Omar.

Also "I'm not doing well in the suburbs. Are you people crazy"
He claimed that Biden will destroy the suburbs by "abolishing single-family zoning"

Trump is just totally making stuff up. Biden has not canceled either of the two remaining debates.

"What are they gonna do when in 8, 12, maybe 16 years I say, 'let's hang it up'? 16 more years."

There is an argument I find somewhat (not completely but somewhat) comforting.

The "Right" will not engage in a mass uprising if Trump loses because evolutions/uprisings happen when a people are truly desperate. The "Right" is not truly desperate. They can go on about how there way of life is ending and that all is lost if the Democrats get in power but then they go home to their houses and sleep in their warm comfortable beds and watch TV. People don't go all Red Dawn when they do that.

David Wong (yeah, yeah I'm bringing him up again) mentioned that when he was growing up his family belong to a church where every Sunday the pastor would go on and on about how any day now the "Evil Godless Liberals" would round up all the good God fearing real Americans and everyone nodded and agreed... and then when church let out they didn't go out and buy ammo and prepare for widespread guerilla warfare, they to the Old Country Buffet for lunch and then went home to watch the Bears game.

Trump is desperate to cancel the next debates - without a Fox guy lobbying softballs at him "he will love", he will get someone eager to prove that he won't put up with his temper tantrums.

Trump took his best shot and it didn't land.

As with the rest of the rally quote, and all of Trump’s statements, removing any requirement for reality makes telling compelling stories so much easier!

On Fox News, John Roberts is visibly angry that the Press Secretary won't make a clear denunciation of white supremacy: "Stop deflecting. Stop blaming the media. I'm tired of it. " he said.

The question McEnany was asked was, "Without ambiguity or deflection, does the president denounce white supremacism?" She refuses to say "yes."

Fox is clearly looking for a way to abandon the USS Trump.
They seem to have gotten the marching orders to draw the line at White Supremacy.

The Trump quotes McEnany is using to defend Trump over white supremacy are misleading, such as trying to spin his debate comments as condemning white supremacy when in fact he did nothing of the sort.

It's like how Trump mocks and dismisses face masks, but occasionally says they're a good thing then his team can acts like he's been the biggest advocate for them and it's a smear campaign to pretend otherwise.

Encourage bigots in one sentence before barely distancing in the next, then attack people who report on the first statement.

Yes, exactly. The standard MO is to take the contradictory statements, back-pedals, and retractions as existing in a vacuum and call anyone a liar who refers to the original statement.

This has been used to great effect with the “Very fine people” statement.

And that's the most confusing part of Trump's debate performance. Why the **** didn't he just come up with the obviously correct answer, "Yes, I condemn White Supremacy"? Sure, everyone would have known it was a lie, but this guy lies like a rug. How is it the one time everyone expects him to lie, he just can't seem to do it? It's mindboggling.

And it's the one lie that can't possibly hurt him. The Proud Boys and their ilk will know he's just telling the libtards what they want to hear, the people who weren't going to vote for him don't matter, and it gives just enough of a fig leaf of normalcy that a few racist-but-not-racist white suburbanites might vote for him instead of against him.

This might be the single most confusing act he's committed as president. It doesn't make any sense at all, even when you try to pro-rate it based on how little sense his acts normally make.

Yeah, it does boggle the mind.

Or, it could be as simple as "don't upset your base".

But that's the thing - it probably wouldn't upset his base. His base is used to dogwhistles, and used to "saying the quiet part quiet" and all that. They know that, even today, outright support for white supremacy is a losing proposition in most places. So they'll wave it away, they know there's an asterisk on his public denials. They won't care about what he says in public as long as he keeps saying the right things in private, and still actually does the racist things they want him to be doing.

He's a petulant dick.

It would be off-brand. From the other side of the table, it's merely Trump "telling it like it is" or "just being honest" and a demonstration of strength, the same with talking over his opposition. The underlying theme of Trump's support is a vicarious power trip by proxy for the naively cynical, where virtually nothing matters beyond the expansion and exercise of power to further the appearance and ends of the "powerful" or "righteous." That crowd won't complain until it affects them, and even then they'll do their best to find something else to blame rather than risk being separated from their herd, consciously or not.

The lies are more outrageous than ever. Something tells me Trump has heard he didn't do well in the debate. He already knows he's losing in the polls and his drifting into his fantasy world for comfort is getting worse.

The world has indeed turned upside down! McEnany admitted to and apologized for an error! She admitted to incorrectly stating that Barrett had received a Rhodes scholarship whereas Barrett had actually simply attended Rhodes College.

Just a mistake but I don’t recall any other wrong statement that McEnany ever backed down from. Maybe it’s because she and not Donald made the original error. I can only imagine the terror in which Trump holds his staff!

I agree. What really means anything to Trump is how it supports his ego. The DEMs could exploit this, but I fear they are not going to do it. Either they are too sleepy, or it is below their honor. In either case, it's a shame.

As we get closer to the election, I suspect his lies will get even bigger, until we get to the biggest one of all, bar none. Come November 2, the last thing we'll hear will be something like "...And I'll see to it that every single person in the United States gets a million dollars! It's true! Vote for me, your favorite President, Donald Trump!

I'd just automatically assume a box of food with Trump's name on it means you have to pay for it, and it'll be overpriced. Or that the food was poisoned. Or both.

And then it turns out to be coupons for a "million dollar hug" from a Trump. And it'd be Eric. Ugh. I'm not saying he's definitely a weasel vampire, but I'm not not saying it, either.

I was hearing about this today and saw that the Rhodes Scholar thing was mentioned in FoxNews on Sept 25.

When did she say it?

I am trying to sort out, did she get it from Fox or did they get it from her?

Btw, the reporter that drilled her today on "what river?" was from Fox News Radio. It's clear to everyone that Trump is a blowhole
