I've figured out where she got some of her misinformation.

Apparently she watched a production of "Fiddler on the Roof" and seriously misinterpreted the butcher Lazar Wolf.

That's a really dumb sentence. The word "polyamorous" is redundant.

God can you imagine if she sued them? That would be a win win situation, although I'm really not sure who I would be cheering on.

I won't be surprised if there are more dalliances and falls from grace exposed. She does seem to be oblivious to the consequences of her impulses.

I would think her problem may be, the average male trump supporter holds women to a very different standard of conduct than they do the menfolk. But since the average trump supporter seems to be living in a different reality...who knows?

dudalb 11th February 2021 05:12 PM

And, frankly, it's not that Green is that great a beauty anyway.

She'll have to change her name, otherwise anything with her name on it will be mistaken for some environmental hippie crap.

MTG tweeted today about Herrera-Butler's volunteering to appear before the Senate and testify about the phone call between Trump and McCarthy during the riot:

Quote:

"The gift that keeps on giving to the Democrats. First voting to impeach innocent President Trump, then yapping to the press and throwing @GOPLeader under the bus, and now a tool as a witness for the Democrats running the circus trial. The Trump loyal 75 million are watching."

Although it seems the main ringleaders are currently facing extended sentences in jail for the Jan 6th thing. So they will have to resort to the Rudolph Hess level of leadership rather than the Herman Goering level.

What are you questioning? 75 million is a reasonable number to cite for the vague phrase "Trump supporters". He got 74.2 million votes in the election. We know some of his supporters didn't vote.

Are they sure all 75 million voted FOR T**** rather than AGAINST Biden and the Dems?

Donny's popularity is running at an all-time low right now, down from 40% to 30%. That means at least 15 million of those "winners" have dumped him already.

The Seattle Times reports:
Quote:

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., warned U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wash., Saturday to consider her testimony if called as a witness in former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial. Following the Senate’s 55-45 vote that morning to consider witnesses appear for the trial, Greene told Herrera Beutler in a Saturday tweet that Trump’s supporters would be watching if she were called to testify. Seattle Times link
In a regular criminal trial Greene's thuggish antics could possibly be considered witness intimidation. Below is a screencap of Greene's tweet to Beutler. (You have to move fast with Greene, given the rate at which she posts then deletes tweets and FB posts. What's she trying to hide, anyway? Everyone knows she's a thug.)

No. Even MTG isn't that dumb. Well, I guess she is. That is close to something she actually tweeted last Fall when she was running for Congress.
Quote:

A House candidate whom President Trump recently called “a future Republican Star” posted an image of herself holding a rifle with photos of three liberal congresswomen of color and the vow to “go on the offense” against members of the “Squad,” an unprecedented threat against lawmakers from a probable future colleague. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the GOP candidate for a Georgia congressional seat in a heavily Republican district and a professed QAnon conspiracy believer, posted the photoshopped image Thursday on Facebook. The image includes Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.). On Friday, the post had been taken down. Before it was removed, the caption under the gun-toting Greene read: “Squad’s worst nightmare.”Washington Post link
As usual, you had to look quick because Maj quickly deleted it. But not before some screen caps were made. Worst nightmare? A thuggy alt-right white woman with a loaded rifle? Yeah, that's nightmarish. If you have to interact with her.

Trebuchet 14th February 2021 03:43 PM

No, I think that's the pic she posted with a tweet about "the squad".

Below is video of Marjorie Taylor Green confronting and following 18-year-old David Hogg, a survivor of the Stoneland Douglas High School shooting in which seventeen people were killed and seventeen people were injured. Greene is angry at Hogg for pursuing gun control legislation. This video was filmed by someone accompanying Greene in Washington DC in March 2019 when both Hogg and Greene were visiting Congress. At the time of the Washington confrontation she complained that more members of Congress were willing to meet with him then with her.

Greene had at at first alleged the shooting was staged, but also said armed school guards could have prevented it. It's hard to follow her. This was apparently another video she deleted but again, not before someone copied and archived it.

Maybe. But she is proving just not stable enough or bright enough to stay out of serious trouble. Like all self-inflated evangelists, she will inevitably trip over her own stupid feet doing exactly the stuff she has previously railed against. So I suspect, come the 2022 or 2024 election, she will no longer be in the House.

You are underestimating the stupidity of her base in a district who voted for her over an equally Trump supporting neurosurgeon. Have you learned nothing about Trump cultists?

I think a significant number of those in her district who voted for her will be horrified enough that our state voted D for President and both Senators that they'll embrace MTG's nutbar antics. If they don't actually go for someone even more extremely to the right next time, that is. Reactionary right in rural Georgia.

In that case I think they're not so much voting for the Republican candidate as against the Democrat one, because they fear and/or loathe Democrats.

Like when she has to; and even then, it may be more for the sake of the message she can use them to proclaim to everyone than for the sake of the protection they can help provide for anyone. A mask used to keep from spreading a virus is a fine thing; a mask used to spread stupidity is just stupidly ironic, propagating a more insidious virus.

Never underestimate the power of stupidity in large numbers.

But I was talking about MTG personally. She is already making herself nonviable for re-election at the start of her term. She has already shot herself (figuratively, fortunately) in both feet multiple times on the way to Washington, now she is starting up her own legs by continuing to go on about the insurrection and unfettered Trump support.

So while she may be a local hit in Upper Holler, Georgia, her conservative opponents will rapidly find a better alternative who doesn't make them look like swivel-eyed fools also.

Had that beaten out of me when Trump was first elected.

The alternatives to MTG may well be much akin to Albert Speer politically - wimpy hangers-on. But at least they don't randomly threaten to shoot people in the street they don't like.

Also, Australian politics tends to be like Canadian politics, but without all the hoopla and flair..or charisma. With few exceptions, Australian PMs tend to be so soft and colourless that they resemble transparent gas clouds. My expectations are quite low... ;)

They had that in the equally Republican Trump supporting neurosurgeon. The local Daisy Maes and Li'l Abners still chose her.

The people are great and we have everything in the way of scenery/climate/ geography. Just don't mention certain things in certain places. It's kind of like pit bulls. Lovely dogs...unless you get one that's a little crazy and you trigger it. Don't mention Bernie Sanders or AOC in Oklahoma. Don't mention Trump in downtown Portland OR . And in the name of all that is holy, don't mention gun control in Wyoming or gay conversion in San Francisco. Other than that, we're pretty sane. Or not. :p

It's the old "Oh, I know! I'll be clever!" routine again. The sort of clever that thought no one would be able to decode "knee grow" during the Obama years.

"They're going to make me wear a mask? I know, I'll wear a mask with "Trump Won!" on it, that way they can't stop me from reminding everyone who sees my picture how far out of touch with reality I am! Take that, libtards!"
