MTG was one of several right-wing politicians and pundits to declare that a white nationalist rally in DC over the weekend was staged by the Feds. She's never seen "patriot" groups wearing khakis, so they must be fake.

Quote:

In December 2021, members of a white nationalist group known as Patriot Front marched at the Lincoln Memorial and other parts of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., wearing face coverings and an improvised uniform of khaki pants and dark blue jackets, and carrying shields and American flags.
Quote:

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., described the men shown in one video as “movie characters”:

“No Patriot group I’ve ever seen wears khakis, Stormtrooper knee pads, and covers their faces like they’re scared. Just more movie characters.”

(The funny part is Jacob Wohl saying that they must be Feds because they were unusually slim. He knows his audience.)

The New Uniform of White Supremacy
In Charlottesville, demonstrators turned out in polos and khakis. But their seemingly innocuous clothes spoke volumes.

why white supremacists are co-opting khaki pants
In the leadup to the Unite the Right rally on August 11, neo-Nazi Andrew Anglin, who runs the hate site the Daily Stormer, put out a call for white supremacists attending the march to look "appealing" in an effort to attract "normal" people. "Do not look scraggly," he emphasized, after providing a detailed dress code that recommended button-up shirts and well-cut pants (strictly no shorts). He ended his PSA:

"I cannot stress the point hard enough – I'm hitting italics again – we need to be extremely conscious of what we look like, and how we present ourselves. That matters more than our ideas. If that is sad to you, I'm sorry, but that is just human nature. If people see a bunch of mismatched overweight slobs, they are not going to care what they are saying."

WHY DO MEMBERS OF THE ALT-RIGHT LOVE POLOS AND KHAKIS SO MUCH?
Nearly a year into the Trump era, nobody is surprised by emboldened racists anymore, but what did raise a few questions was their choice of outfit: it quickly became apparent that these slavery enthusiasts had picked out a uniform for themselves that consisted of white polo shirts, khakis and tiki torches – although that last one might not be a permanent fixture of the look.

Fred Perry withdraws polo shirt adopted by far-right Proud Boys
Company distances itself from US fascist group as it halts sales of garment in North America

The fashion brand Fred Perry has pulled one of its famous polo shirt designs after it became associated with a far-right organisation. The company has halted sales of the black and yellow top in the US and Canada, after it was adopted by the neo-fascist organisation the Proud Boys.

In a statement posted to its website, Fred Perry said it was “incredibly frustrating” to see the polo shirt and its laurel wreath logo become associated with the group.

sackett 7th December 2021 08:15 AM

We can shake our heads over the antics in the solemn monkey cage of fascism, both yesterday and today, but those goons gain confidence from adopting uniforms. It makes them feel military.

Just wait, we'll be seeing black shirts again.

Those details certainly matter, though they don't detract from the larger point: Roughly one-in-10 GOP voters in this ruby-red district are skeptical about future elections as a result of absurd conspiracy theories, suggesting it's in Republicans' interest to stop peddling absurd conspiracy theories.

Dan Crenshaw Blasts GOP Freedom Caucus: They’re ‘Grifters’ and ‘Performance Artists’

Quote:

Speaking at a Texas campaign event on Sunday, Crenshaw took aim at Republican critics who have personally called him out for voting for what they’ve described as a “vaccine database” to track and punish unvaccinated citizens. As the conservative lawmaker noted, what he actually supported was a House bill merely allocating state funds to update immunization information systems.

“You heard online that 80 Republicans voted to track you in a vaccine database,” Crenshaw told Republican voters at the Texas Liberty Alliance PAC event. “If it sounds too ridiculous to be true, it’s probably not true.”
Yeah I think it's a little late for that, Crenshaw.

If that's the case then she really needs to read up on the latest science, and in particular that related to the Omicron variant. Immunity acquired by infection lasts less than 6 months and doesn't appear to provide very much immunity against Omicron.

Quote:

The new report from the Imperial College London COVID-19 response team estimates that the risk of reinfection with the Omicron variant is 5.4 times greater than that of the Delta variant. This implies that the protection against reinfection by Omicron afforded by past infection may be as low as 19%.
https://www.imperial.ac.uk/news/2326...icron-england/

People hoping that Omicron would be a magic bullet by being highly infectious, but not at all serious are also likely to be disappointed.

Quote:

The study finds no evidence of Omicron having lower severity than Delta, judged by either the proportion of people testing positive who report symptoms, or by the proportion of cases seeking hospital care after infection.
OTOH, being triple vaccinated does seem to provide a fair amount of immunity from symptomatic infection even if it isn't perfect.

Quote:

Depending on the estimates used for vaccine effectiveness against symptomatic infection from the Delta variant, this translates into vaccine effectiveness estimates against symptomatic Omicron infection of between 0% and 20% after two doses, and between 55% and 80% after a booster dose. Similar estimates were obtained using genotype data, albeit with greater uncertainty.

In an attempt to show how "Not Racist" the MAGAchud are, MTG resorts to using racist slurs...

From: Business Insider
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia attracted criticism for using a term widely seen as a racial slur in boasting of the racial diversity those who support former President Donald Trump...."When I walked in yesterday, I was like, what kind of people come here?" Greene said. "So I'm walking around and seeing some good people, and I see white people, Black people, brown people, yellow people."...She went on to mock those who accuse the pro-Trump movement of being racist.... Greene's use of the phrase "yellow people" is itself a racist trope, critics pointed out.

Stay classy, MTG.

Maybe she was just channeling the spirit of Inspector Clouseau, who used a similar term when referring to his Asian-born manservant.

But the big question is, do those yellow people control any space lasers?

Protip. When a Conservative tries to prove they aren't racist, EVEN WHEN THEY BEING HONEST ABOUT IT, it only means they are trying to prove they could hypothetically be more racist if they really tried.

Lying and cheating are second nature to people like MTG. Making **** up has been her stock in trade. That's why she aligns with people like Trump and Gaetz. So much so that it's a pretty safe bet to expect that, right off the bat, anything she says is probably a lie.

Trump is driven by his ego, and he's too stupid to know when to shut up about something. He needs to take credit for the vaccine even if this will make his cult lose faith in him. In contrast, Greene is just a grasping opportunist who knows when to lie.

They're both liars, but they have different priorities.

MTG, as has been previously stated, appears to be nothing but an attention whore. And apparently, any attention is better than no attention. Kind of like a toddler. A few days out of the news cycle will lead her to say anything. What a maroon.

This is quoted from a story listed on MSN from Blavity.

Conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene showed her true colors, again, while trying to diminish the meaning of Kwanzaa. Taylor made her latest ignorant statement while responding to a tweet from the College Republicans group, which tweeted "wishing you a happy and prosperous Kwanza."

"Stop. It’s a fake religion created by a psychopath," the conservative said in response to the tweet. "You aren’t bringing in new voters, you are turning them away. People are tired of pandering and BS."

Disparaging other people's celebrations sure doesn't seem like a very good way to bring new people in to grow your political party. But then she doesn't seem to be able to say anything nice about anyone that isn't already a deplorable, in my opinion.

Remember though that for her sort "secular" is a culture war cuss word too, and like so many she probably considers the absence of religion a religion.

My own guess is that she really is more stupid than she seems because unlike many who realize it and rue it she cultivates it. Some struggle as they sink while she pulls from below.

Getting new people would require them to consider taking some new positions, and they've shown they have absolutely zero interest in that.

Which brings up the whole issue of voter disenfranchising, gerrymandering, etc., since they can't win on just their base. Not all of them are as stupid as MTG. They have a way that has worked in the past, and are trying to improve on it. Hence the need to pass the federal voter protection legislation.

True enough, but those also don't need to attract many new people if they can limit the vote to their base. Maybe not as stupid as MTG but that still leaves a lot of room.
