Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Tuesday floated resorting to using the "Second Amendment" to deal with Democrats who are imposing what she described as a "tyrannical" government.

While speaking with right-wing media personality Sebastian Gorka, Greene slammed Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams for her policies regarding both vaccines and gun rights.

Greene then pivoted to talking about how Americans are guaranteed the right to bear arms to resist such supposed tyranny.

"Ultimately the truth is it’s our Second Amendment rights, our right to bear arms, that protects Americans and give us the ability to defend ourselves from a tyrannical government," she said. "And I hate to use this language but Democrats, they’re exactly -- they’re doing exactly what our Founders talked about when they gave us the precious rights that we have.”

Nope, wrong. It's prescription anti-parasitic medicine here in Australia. From what I can see, it's same in Canada and the UK. In fact, Ivermectin is specifically banned from distribution as a COVID treatment in Australia, particularly the veterinary product. For obvious reasons.

Speaking from a lot of experience living and working in Mexico, something to help you poop is not what you need to get at the farmacia. I learned how to ask for Lomotil at the pharmacy myself. Mexican food plus ivermectin sounds like it would be debilitating.

Is there any point where this woman can say enough to get herself in trouble? I know if I said what I truly think about her I could be arrested. She is dangerous and I can't believe we have to tolerate this.

It'd be one thing if their views were completely at odds with those expressed by the majority of Republicans, but they aren't:

• Donald Trump is the undisputed leader of the GOP - Check
• Democrats are left wing extremists - Check
• The 2020 Presidential election was stolen when millions of illegal votes were cast - Check
• Any steps to curtail the spread of Covid, including vaccination or mask wearing, are unacceptable - Check
• "Second amendment solutions" are an acceptable way to address political differences - Check

Worse yet, 40%+ of the US electorate agree with them. :(

I have a gut feeling that number is wrong, in a number of ways.

40% of Republican voters, maybe. Or at a stretch, 40% of eligible American voters who actually do vote regularly. Neither of those is near 40% of the whole US electorate.

And 60% disagreeing with them does not equate to 40% agreeing with them. Stats and lies...

On the other hand, if a voter looked at the potential candidates, saw one was a racist con-artist who gave away state secrets (i.e. Stubby McBonespurs himself), or a local GOP congress critter who is more than willing to enable the likes of Trump, MTG or Gaetz, and still said "I don't want to vote", then it is a sort of tacit approval of the republican actions.

What Ole Lantern-Jaw misses is that her 2 amendment people will get all shot to **** should they attempt this stupidity. They're not going to hide out in the piney woods guerilla-style, living off the fat of the land and Jim Bakker meals while they insurrect. What would happen would be some meth head will sell out their location and superior firepower and technology would then settle their hash.

It's similar to (meaningless in my opinion) "I'm not saying all Trump voters are racist, I'm just for all Trump voters racism, by definition, isn't a deal breaker" thing.

I am reading that her Anti Hollywood rant might be aimed on traditional resentment the people in far North Georgia have agianst the rest of the state.
If she was running for statewide office, her "Let's get rid of Hollywood in the state" would be sucidal, but in the backwoods part of Georgia she lives in......
