Goldberg's sources could be lying. The nasty woman at Fox could be "confirming" with those same corrupt sources. Deep State conspiracies agaisnt this president are common.

He may be between a rock and a hard place. He probably does not want to politicize his son's death. If he confirms it, he can expect vicious statements not just about himself but his son as well. Anyone who did that would be attacking a Gold Star family, but that's OK with Trump's fans.

Of course, he's being attacked by Trump now anyway, presumably for not denying it.

But if the likes of Kelly, Mattis and current or former intelligence figures aren't privately alerting individual Republican senators about the threat Trump poses to national security I'd be disappointed. They don't necessarily have a duty to stand on a soap box publicly denouncing Trump, but if they think he's a threat to the country, I don't think they should just be playing golf or puttering around the house.

1) Trump could not understand, on his own, that not showing up would play poorly. He has no idea that other people have their own feelings, goals, and emotions that are both nothing like his and completely valid.

2) Rather than admit that he made a poor decision, he accuses others of ******* him over.

I would be amazed if Trump could give a coherent answer to the question “why was there fallout after you didn’t show up?”

The Democrat elites doubtlessly had to molest and eat several babies to convince Satan to attack this Trump parade.

It's not just a poor decision, though. Even if he wanted to be apologetic, what would he be apologizing for? His mortal fear of precipitation? His terminal laziness? His petulance at being made to feel like an outsider by his European betters?

Unfortunately for President Piece O'****, there was never going to be a good explanation/excuse/lie for why he wouldn't drag himself out of his room to make this scheduled appearance.

I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of this type of thing, but mostly in car parades. I just saw a Facebook post setting one up for tomorrow afternoon. For celebrating America in general and Trump in particular. I was pissed -- why not make it inclusive? Situations like this can only inflame tensions. I didn't bother replying as I don't want to get involved in any political posting on FB. Which, among my Friends, has held up pretty well.

It's just a bunch of owners of pleasure boats, large and small, on the lake at the same time. It's not too different from any other summer day at a large lake, the difference in this case being that Trump supporters made arrangements to festoon their boats with Trump campaign flags all at the same time.

Trump-support has become something of a cult of personality; for the supporters, their status AS "Trump supporters" has invaded every aspect of their identity, so that many of them are taking completely mundane personal or family events - like a trip to the lake, or a family barbecue, a wedding in at least one instance - and turning them into ad-hoc political rallies by having everyone wear clothing or carry flags proclaiming devotion to Trump.

I'm an atheist myself but a lot of these idjits think Trump was sent by God to save Amurica from people just like me.
