The good thing is that one of the potential outcomes of any negotiation with an untrustworthy client is "**** OFF".

If anything goes wrong during the Biden administration, Trump can win. And how will his cultists respond if the 2024 Democratic candidate is Kamala Harris or Stacey Abrams? If Trump doesn't run, he can throw his support behind some younger, smarter fascist like Ted Cruz or Tom Cotton. Whatever is happening now is far from over.

Less likely if he is in jail, or has fled to Moscow to escape prosecution, or he has been committed to an asylum for the terminally bewildered.

We should perhaps note that "Big Pharma" doesn't "give" other countries lower prices. Other countries with Universal Health Care tend to negotiate with Big Pharma, using their massive purchasing power, to make them sell at better prices.

Of course the "Businessman president" doesn't get that.

...and prices are coming down FAST! Also just ended all rebates to middlemen, further reducing prices.

I can’t find the EO, but this matter does, as Horatius notes, seem to demonstrate a misunderstanding of Most Favoured Nation rules. Under MFN, unless you have a registered free trade agreement, you can’t give a tariff discount to countries that export a product to you unless you give the same discount to all other non-FTA countries.

I thought I would check what the US tariffs are on medicines, choosing packaged pseudoephedrine as an example completely at random, and it seems the US has long had a zero tariff. So I’m not sure how an executive order could do anything to MFN tariffs other than increase them. Maybe import subsidies?

Trying to grab some of that sweet Bay of Pigs glory the US is renowned for.

I presume the Bay of Pigs Award is a mocking award to single out a person who proclaims support for a group but then abandons them to their death for political expedience.
If so, it entirely fitting.

Every time anybody mentions that -- and apparently it's in heavy rotation on Fox -- it should be noted that there are probably tens of thousands of people in the world who can submit a nomination. There are at least 318 nominees this year.

Quote:

According to the statutes of the Nobel Foundation, a nomination is considered valid if it is submitted by a person who falls within one of the following categories:

Members of national assemblies and national governments (cabinet members/ministers) of sovereign states as well as current heads of states

Members of The International Court of Justice in The Hague and The Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague

Members of l’Institut de Droit International

Members of the international board of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom

University professors, professors emeriti and associate professors of history, social sciences, law, philosophy, theology, and religion; university rectors and university directors (or their equivalents); directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes

Persons who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize

Members of the main board of directors or its equivalent of organizations that have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize

Current and former members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee (proposals by current members of the Committee to be submitted no later than at the first meeting of the Committee after 1 February)

Former advisers to the Norwegian Nobel Committee

Nevada event in front of a mostly mask-less crowd breaches state’s 50-person limit and Trump administration’s coronavirus guidelines

In open defiance of state regulations and his own administration’s pandemic health guidelines, President Donald Trump on Sunday hosted his first indoor rally since June, telling a packed, nearly mask-less Nevada crowd that the nation was making the last turn in defeating the virus.

Eager to project a sense of normalcy in imagery, Trump soaked up the raucous cheers inside the warehouse venue. Relatively few in the crowd wore masks, with one clear exception: those in the stands directly behind Trump, whose images would end up on TV, were mandated to wear face coverings.
The Guardian: Trump's first indoor rally since June defies Covid laws, attacks Biden

Trump will be 78 in 2024 and let's face it, he's no Joe Biden. We have strong indications that his health is failing. The fight to be the heir of Trump is going to be ugly with his nits who grew into lice, former cabinet members and probably a few demagogue businessmen vying for the crown. If the Trump administration ends next year and along with it, the loss of the Senate, he's going to leave a weakened and fractured GOP.

...replied “Yes, Absolutely.” Biden calls for abolishing cash bail and closing prisons — and Biden even called law enforcement “the ENEMY.” Biden’s anti-police crusade must STOP. Furthermore, the corporations funding anti-police organizations should instead give their money...

Must be one of the most stupid conspiracy theories ever that "they" launched a myriad investigations on the Trump campaign, but somehow forgot to even leak anything about that before the election.

What the FBI (probably the NYC office) actually leaked was that "Investigating Donald Trump, F.B.I. Sees No Clear Link to Russia" (NYT, Oct 31st, 2016).
And the "Comey letter" of course.

But yeah, Trump is still whining in 2020 about something that actually didn't happen (or if it did, had 0 impact) in 2016.

I watched as much of last night’s rally as I could stand.

Most of what I saw was doomsday demonizing of Biden.

But he also mentioned Obama “spying” on his campaign, which elicited a chant of “Lock him up!”. With Trump soaking it up.

https://youtu.be/9BAnprlmuOE

This was followed by what I think was a chant of “We love you!”, though it was hard for me to make out.

So, we’re at the point where a sitting President suggests the imprisonment of his predecessor. It’s all quite disheartening. And scary.
