A New York state judge ruled Wednesday that Eric Trump must sit to be deposed by the state attorney general's office by October 7, denying his request to delay an interview as part of an investigation into the Trump Organization until after the presidential election, according to the attorney general's office.

Remember, initially Eric Trump said he would get interviewed, then said "nope, I am pleading the 5th", then said "I will but after the election".

Sadly I don't think anything particularly damaging will come out of it prior to the election. Unless of course he decides to plead the 5th, which can be embarrassing to Stubby McBonespurs.

Then again, it is Eric, so we can hope he slips up.

(But a team of Trump lawyers will yell “Stop!” every time he starts down a dangerous road.)

Ooooh, I do hope he tries. He can be added to the surprisingly long list of people who don't realize the Fifth doesn't work the way they think it does from having seen it on TV.

Of course, that stuff will likely collapse on Trump.
(1) He’s too cheap to hire high-end anonymous death squads, so once he partially stiffs them on payment, they’ll come forward to confess.

(2) And it is quite possible there will be a money trail and an e-mail trail.

(3) And even if they avoid those two obstacles, Trump will feel the need to publicly brag about it.

I saw this coming. I couple of days ago, Kayleigh McLiar said that Trump would "release his vision" for a new healthcare plan in a couple of days.

A "vision" is not a plan. At best, it is a goal. More likely, it is not even that.

This is something that is very common in this administration, and it is completely consistent with what you would expect given the president's past as "the boss." His entire approach to solving a problem is to tell his workers to get it done. As the boss of his businesses, his role was to decide what problems that needed to solved, and he delegated the solution.

That's all he has done. He's decided, "I want to solve heath care. OK, you people, get it done."

That's what a boss does. It's not what a leader does.

That's Trump though. On the rare occassion he actually claims to have a "plan" the plan is never anymore complicated than "Just do it."

Trump is one of those people who honestly think the reason a problem exists is because there's some obvious "from the gut, common sense" solution that all the smarties are thinking about it too much to see because he's an idiot who understands the problem on a surface level at best.

"Nobody knew health care could be so complicated."

This is literally one of the jokes from Idiocracy. President Camacho announced his "3-point plan" to solve the country's major problem.

#1 - I've got a guy.
#2 - He's really smart.
#3 - He will solve the problem.

So he's like a young teenager who thinks he's figured out the world.
That's pretty advanced for him. Usually he's more like a 2-6 year old.

Then again his solutions do tend to be made up out of whole cloth, which is more like a toddler's or child's approach. "How do you think we can beat the virus, Timmy?"

Someone pointed out, thought, that while the president in Idiocracy was stupid, even he ultimately asked an actual expert for help. Considering the people Trump surrounds himself with, he might as well ask advice from a potted plant.

Say what you will about President Camacho, but he at least found the smartest person he could to solve a problem that he knew he was unable to solve himself.

It's this whole idea that the only reason we have problems is because all those uppity elitist in power just aren't as smart as they think they are with their fancy book learning and don't realize they are making the problem more complicated than it really is and all it's gonna take is a salt of the Earth person with some common sense and street smarts to go in there and cut right through the Gordian Knot is one of the core prospects of Trump's persona that he sells to his followers. Well, in normal management lingo, there are targets, goals, and visions.

- A target is measurable, planned and dated. It is in the offing.

- A goal is measurable, obtainable, and the targets needed to obtain it are planned. It is over the horizon.

- A vision is the idea that is pointed to by targets and goals. It is beyond the horizon.

Camacho in a landslide. He at least never had the chance to not be an idiot - he was on the tail end of hundreds of years of breeding and social conditioning that promoted stupidity and ignorance over intelligence and learning.
