Impeachment Porn

No, the "most noteworthy media development of the Trump era" is the way that Trump has used Twitter to feed lies and self-serving propaganda directly to his cult of personality, bypassing the fact-checking and analysis of the legitimate news media, and in the process to debase and disgrace the office formerly known as the "leader of the free world."
 
I'm so tired of everything being referred to as "porn". "Word porn, nature porn, impeachment porn." What the **** does porn have to do with any of it? I don't get the comparison. Are we watching this information in a dark room, by ourselves and not telling anyone else out of fear of being embarrassed? Are people actually having sexual release by reading this ******

That's one of my biggest pet peeves. Everything has to be porn.
 
Of course, the most politically expedient thing for the Dems would be to have Donny actually remain in the big chair until the next election period, and NOT impeach him. The longer he stays there, the more everything goes backwards for him, his dimwit family, and the GOP.

If the agony can be borne and drawn out long enough, Trump will be reduced actual public willy-waving on live TV in defiance of Kim Jong Un, He will be unable to speak in whole words let alone sentences, he will be eating his pureed cheeseburgers through a nasal tube, and the slightest sign of a speck of dust or Bannon (both much the same, actually) will cause paroxysms of gorilla-like roars and chest-beating.

In short, Donny will be the reason why the GOP will never have a chance of being the conservative face of the USA ever again. Hopefully something more realistic and sensible will arise instead.

Not really. Clinton committed perjury under oath, while serving as president. That was certainly a fit subject for impeachment proceedings. The House of Representatives actually presented a case for impeachment on those grounds to the Senate, and the Senate actually voted on the matter. It was an actual impeachment, attended by no small amount of partisan glee, naturally.

But very different from the current situation, where no clear cause for impeachment has yet been produced. Instead, partisans on the left each week return to their exciting fantasies of The One Thing That Will Disqualify Trump For Sure This Time.

It's been going on for almost two years now--since before the election. Progressive "impeachment porn" is really just a sub-genre of progressive "disqualification porn".
 
Clinton lied about an affair under oath: Impeach!!! Impeach!!!

How many people are we up to now from Trump's inner circle who lied on federal security clearance forms about meetings with Russian officials, lied in Congressional hearings about meetings with Russian officials, failed to report knowledge of the crime of hacking the DNC or of Russians trying to influence the election, or, failed to register as foreign agents?

No problem, nothing to see here, move along. :rolleyes:

I don't know if Trump will be impeached given the current GOP controlled Congress. They don't seem interested in honor or country. Maybe after the 2018 elections we'll see if they don't find out their gamble on 30% of the voter population was a bad idea.

But the idea of trying to demonize Bill Clinton for 'lying under oath' to distract from the corrupt mentally ill thing that's in office now, it's mind boggling.

I don't get, I really don't. Trump's corruption alone should be a serious concern but apparently it isn't. His incompetence is clear. Apparently that's of no concern either. Pathological lying? Meh.

Meh, I don't think its all that different from the more extreme opposition during the last 2 or even 3 presidents. Trump is uniquely bad so he does engender uniquely vocal opposition but this really is just the natural progression of politics of the last 20 years.

It's almost like Trump hasn't read the clause in the Constitution that allows impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors and calling Kim Jong Un "Rocketman."

Republicans want to call impeachment for Trump fantasy and porn. However, at the same time, Republicans are actively doing everything they can to obstruct and impeded the investigation.
 
"porn" suggests a form of tension release, albeit artificial and temporary.
The media on the other hand is interested in keeping the audience hooked all the time.
So the term really does not fit in this case.

Precisely why I prefaced my notions with the words "If the agony can be borne...long enough..."

In regard to lives cost, GOP recalcitrance was already costing lives during the Bush and Obama regimes. Think of the lives that were lost just to medical costs while Obama had to wheel and deal to get ACA done. Many months lost...

It is also worth noting (yet again) that the USA loses more people to gun deaths each year than to car accident deaths. So there's a HUGE gimme sitting right there for Donny to look hugely covfefe and bigly presidential by reigning in the nutcase guns even just a teensy bit. Expect him to do the exact opposite however.

In regard to allies, after Nov 2016 and long before Donny pretended to take the oath, we had already moved past the "international laughingstock" stage and on to the "we are dreadfully sorry you are so ill" stage. So while you get better, we will carry on doing the international diplomacy and trade stuff for you. Don't get up...we got this. Just stay at home and try to recover.

Tell me, can we find any posts of you being equally adamant that half of Trump's inner circle also lied under oath either on security forms or in their confirmation hearings?

The fact that Republicans don't care how much their own people lie under oath doesn't mean Bill Clinton did not lie under oath himself. Yes, it was a lie about something inconsequential to America, but still a lie. So they aren't wrong to say Bill lied, they are just hypocrites to not care that their own people do it under oath, all the time.
