"Mark Penn, who served as a pollster for Bill Clinton in the 1990s and chief strategist for Hillary's 2008 presidential campaign, says that the political couple's open marriage was possibly 'not by choice'.

He even references Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright's characters on the hit political drama House of Cards, where the fictional first couple, Frank and Claire Underwood, 'have numerous partners, including one who sleeps at the White House'."

THIS ISN'T NEWS! Penn said that years ago. And Clinton hasn't been President for 16 years!

Why is this in Politics? The love and sex trivia of celebrities usually go to the sort of cheap magazines that elderly ladies consume in waiting rooms and at their hair dressers.

What the heck is a "not by choice" open relationship? IMO it's only open if both parties agree to it. It's cheating otherwise.

I wish America would grow into one of those countries that literally don't care who their leaders are sleeping with.

We had only our 3rd impeachment proceeding in our country's history over this. That's insane.

I really don't care who Trump is sleeping with. I didn't not vote for him because of that. I DO care the Evangelical right supports this sleazebag.

Agreed. I've been making that claim since like forever. I'm not sure though if it's an open relationship as much as it is a simple marriage of convenience. Who knows? They and the Weiner's were great buddies too. I don't even want to know.

"Open relationship" is something I couldn't care less about.

Cheating? Maybe, if only because it opens a potential for bribery.

I mean, not for Toupee Fiasco, since he's involved in money laundering, routinely hires undocumented immigrants, has stiffed over a thousand contractors for no reason other than he could, has gone bankrupt several times, and isn't even smart enough to hide his bigotry, conspiracy-theory pseudologic, or his obstruction of justice, instead blurting it all out in front of cameras or to entertain crowds. But, in theory...

It wasn't over this. It was over actually breaking the law.

Of course they have an open marriage, otherwise it would be unethical for them to rape babies at John Podesta's favorite pizza parlor...

You have to hand it to them: they managed to make all those babies sign NDAs that are way more airtight than what Cohen could come up with.

Nice. One pointless post has spawned a pointless storm here.

I won't weigh in, but I am curious, as are others, as to why you give a damn about the Clinton's arrangements.

Query, if you won't weigh in, then why do you give a damn about this thread?

Curious.

Curious.

Because I am interested in US Politics and the thread caught my eye, obviously.

And then, reading it, I realized that the Clinton's arrangements have ****-all to do with anything, far as I can tell, and wondered why it was being addressed here.

Have you never read a thread (or part of a thread) and decided it was pointless?

Up next: Shenanigans afoot in Teapot Dome, Wyoming. Trouble brewing for the Harding administration?

But I have been told repeatedly that adultery is illegal in New York, which means that Clinton was susceptible to blackmail while she was SoS.

That might explain why Anthony Weiner had so many emails from the State Department on his computer, a little extortion perhaps?

Really puts a ton of the Clinton missteps in a new light.

The Trumps have an open marriage as well.

As in, Donald Trump opens his wallet to pay off some of the women that he has sex with. While in other cases, Donald Trump opens his mouth to berate the other women that he has sex with.

I think you misremembered. While adultery is illegal, that wasn't the source of blackmail threat.

Yeah, okay, to be fair, I would be kinda jealous, except I know that in an open marriage, my wife would outscore me. Can't handle that.

Likely to be the case in the majority of marriages, I would guess?
