Here are some suggestions for legal representation:

- Judge Jeanine... spends all her time sucking up to Trump. Should be eager to be on his legal team

- TheBigDog... our own resident legal expert

- Brett Talley... Trump tried to appoint him to the court but failed, so he's available. Granted, he got a 'not qualified' rating from the American Bar Association and has little courtroom experience, but if Trump thought he was good enough to be a judge he must be good enough to work for Trump

- Mathew Petterson... Another failed attempt by Trump to appoint a judge. This guy couldn't answer basic legal questions. But that shouldn't matter to a Trump legal team that is more interested in feelings than facts

- Matlock... Ok, he's a fictional character (and the actor who played him is dead). But hey, Trump probably saw him on TV and isn't smart enough to recognize that he wasn't a real lawyer

- Lionel Hutz... Another fictional lawyer (actually a cartoon), but hey, at least Trump would look relatively normal next to him

Trump... if you're reading this, feel free to use any of my recommendations. And I won't even charge you a finder's fee.

If I were in the US Military I would feel real secure about having a Commander in Chief who ignores facts on the ground if they interfere with his fantasies....

Sure, but it's primarily for the benefit of the French wine producers.

and the discrepancy is $.25/750mL or less. So I would say it's more about his feelings than any real economic issue.

I'm not really interested in speculation about Trump's motives, but US winemakers have been complaining about the tariff difference for years. It may seem like small amounts of money to you, but actually wine producers care about it quite a bit.

Hearing that "things have gone bad" from that deplorable excuse for a man is one of the most terrifying scenarios I can envision.
 
Fact is Little Kim has taken Trump to the cleaners,snookered him badly, and Trump just cannot admit it.

Italy produces more wine than France, so not sure I'd agree.

I read your article. Hardly surprising a trade group has a beef about tariffs. It appears obvious they are complaining much more about Japan, India (15% and 150% tariff by value respectively) and emerging markets vs. the 1-2% on an average quality bottle of wine sent to the EU. Hell, the good stuff, which I would imagine is the bulk of the exports, is way below 1% because the tariff is per bottle, not by value.

From that very trade group after Trumps's comments:

“The US charges 5 to 14 cents a standard bottle on EU wine … The EU charges 11 to 29 cents a bottle on American wine. So there is a slight disparity. However, not the level that the President seems to imply here,” said Michael Kaiser, vice president at the Wine Institute. “We would support a trade agreement that would make the tariffs more equal, however we don’t want to see this lead to another trade war like we are seeing with China.”

If you don't want to speculate on Trump's motives, that's cool. I'm perfectly comfortable saying A) his tweet was completely inaccurate and B) it has nothing to do with any concern about wine tariffs, but rather his new beef with Macron and France.

The first lady feuded with Mira Ricardel, the deputy national security adviser, during her tour of Africa in October, US media report.

"It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that she no longer deserves the honour of serving in this White House," her spokeswoman said.

The White House and the National Security Council has yet to comment.

The number of hate crimes reported in the United States jumped by 17 percent last year, the largest increase since 2001 when the terrorist hijackings on 9/11 fueled a surge in attacks on Americans of Muslim and Arab ancestry.

U.S. law enforcement agencies reported a total of 7,175 hate crimes in 2017, up from 6,121 in 2016 and the third consecutive annual increase, the FBI said in its annual hate crime report released on Tuesday. More than 60 percent of the incidents were designated as crimes against persons such as assault and intimidation.

The victims represented a cross section of society, with African-Americans and Jews the most frequently targeted victims. Of 34 bias motivation categories tracked by the FBI, all but five reported an increase.

But they are not inferior. Great wine is made all over the world. Check out a movie called Bottle Shock. It's about a famous wine competition held in France in 1976 where California wines were considered superior to their French counterparts. The Judgement of Paris.

The blind taste test has been repeated and time and time again American wines have proved to be just as good and very often better than the greatest vintages from France.

That's actually an interesting case, because there's a difference between a sip and an entire drink. They aren't the same experience. If you give people just a sip, then they prefer a sip of Pepsi, since it's sweeter. And that's what the blind taste tests were testing. But over the course of an entire can, that sweetness becomes cloying, and more people prefer a coke over a pepsi for a whole drink. The failure to recognize the difference is what led to the New Coke disaster, where Coke tried to replicate Pepsi's success of sip tests.
 
Why isn't anyone wishing to dispel the notion of French snobbery citing sales figures?
