Hamas 'implicitly accepts Israel'

The document in question, darat, specifically calls for continued deaths of Israelis. They have not indicated any renouncing of this 'right' to kill Israelis.

paragraph 10 -- to work on forming a unified resistance front under the name "Palestinian resistance front" to lead and engage in resistance against the occupation and to unify and coordinate action and resistance and to form a unified political reference for the front.

The occupation referred to is not the 1967 occupation, it is really the 1948 occupation.

This is the critical point.
All discussion about this document must take that vital issue into consideration. Neither HAMAS nor FATAH are preparing to recognize Israel using this document.

The Palestinians are glad to allow the 'useful idiots' of the media to say it does ---- but to the people who have written the document, nothing could be further from the truth.

But they IMPLICITLY RECOGNIZE the israelies exist until they are killed! Stop being such an anti-peace extremist...

...snip..

I will reserve judgment until we are certain what the agreement ends up being and also once I have read and seen how the Israeli government interprets it.

Yep - oh well it was nice to have some hope for a little while. When it arrives in the post Israel can just file it in the circular filing cabinet along with all the other junk mail.

People are listening to Hamas... plaaaeeeze...

Tuesday, 27 June 2006, 17:24 GMT 18:24 UK - BBC

Palestinian militant group Hamas has agreed to a document backing a two-state solution to the conflict with Israel, officials say.

...and a mere 3 hours later...

Tuesday, 27 June 2006, 20:45 GMT 21:45 UK - BBC

Hamas negotiators have denied earlier reports that the deal meant the militants would implicitly recognise Israel....

Lesson #1, don't believe a word that comes out of Ramallah, Abu Dis or Gaza city.

West Bank and Gaza Strip, areas captured by Israel in a 1967 war.

Such a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be in line with Fatah's recognition of Israel.

But Hamas legislator Salah al-Bardaweel told Reuters: "We said we accept a state (in territory occupied) in 1967 -- but we did not say we accept two states."

But nevermind anything I notice. I'm just war-mongering so the Jews can steal more land.

Israel just invaded gaza, for the express purpose of stealing more land, and humiliating the HAMAS, and destroying the tadiyeh (calm).

There is no other explanation.
"We are ready to confront any stupid act that the Zionists might commit," said Abu Obeida, spokesman for Hamas' military wing.

(Siggggghhhhhhhhh)

Obviously, the meaning is that they are ready to respond to every military actions, and should be taken seriously.

But the phrasing irresistebly suggests to me that Hamas is saying that for every stupid thing the zionists do, they will do something MORE stupid. The israeli government, in reply, no doubt said that Hamas would not be wise to do that, since they have even STUPIDER acts held in reserve in case of escalation.

In return, a mass rally in Gaza has 100,000 shouting "I'm with stupid" and "we shall redeem Palestine with our blood and stupidity", while, in a quiet display of superiority in this area, the israeli government spreads across the world a glossy photo of its government ministers and their CVs...

(Not a bad description of the whole conflict, come to thing of it.)

Edited to add: I told this "escalation in the war of stupidity" joke to three different people, thinking it was quite funny. The reply in every case was to take it 100% seriously, sighing, "oh well, what did you expect of these people?" and merely wondering why it's not in the news.

I might have stupid friends or I might be a really bad joke teller, but I think that perhaps the situation itself is so odd that nothing causes surprise any more.

Breaking News, continued

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel on Wednesday of carrying out "crimes against humanity" with its incursion into Gaza Strip.

Yeah, I know, this might seem at first glance to be posted in the wrong thread, and more properly belong in one of the two concurrent 'Gaza Inavasion' topics

But there is a method to my offering it here ---------

to show the total lack of respect for the English language by the palestinians which Zenith-Nadir points out in his Post #29

Not a single person has died in Gaza as a result of this rescue operation.
Yet, it is being characterized in terms which are normally reserved for the most heinous and brutal genocide(s) of our generation.

Which brings me full circle to the Hadarim Document.
It does not say anything about recognizing Israel, implicitly or otherwise.
Yet, that is how we are being spoon-fed the upcoming (July) referendum, as a 'major breakthrough' towards peace.

It's toilet paper, and should be treated as such.
Like Darat gracefully puts it,
"When it arrives in the post Israel can just file it in the circular filing cabinet along with all the other junk mail."

If it has down like a duck, if it walks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, it's a duck.
But, the palestinians would call it a turkey.

But nevermind anything I notice. I'm just war-mongering so the Jews can steal more land.

I have never said this at all about anyone. hwat really gets me is if you question what both sides are doing and examine what both sides are up to you get accused of being anti semitc by the Israeli governemnt and a jew hater to boot, which means my Israeli freinds must ahte themselves, and the arabs ahve a go at you for questioning the so called rightesnous of their cause.

What's all this "implicitly" crap?

You either recognize a country explicitly, or you don't recognize them at all. You send an ambassador, you receive an ambassador, you open an embassy, you agree to certain protocols on how you will conduct everyday business with them.

Anything short of that is meaningless.

well it does not appear to be happening so its academic at the moment, if they actually do come out, and there is no sign that they will, then there might, a big might, a way forward, out of the current lunacy.

I doubt even the USA has an ambassador to every country in the world, the UK certainly doesn't.
