Is Atheism based on Logic or Faith?

The opening post appears to be saying that the quran will survive logical analysis, but Logic tells me the quran is full of falsehoods. One of which is that the quran says at sura 36.38 that the sun goes to a resting place. There is a hadith which explains this fully.
The quran is actually saying the sun orbits the flat earth and is reset every dawn , and I can prove it with the following hadith.

Hadith Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 421:
Narrated Abu Dhar:

The Prophet asked me at sunset, "Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." He said, "It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted and then (a time will come when) it will be about to prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go on its course but it will not be permitted, but it will be ordered to return whence it has come and so it will rise in the west. And that is the interpretation of the Statement of Allah: "And the sun Runs its fixed course For a term (decreed). that is The Decree of (Allah) The Exalted in Might, The All-Knowing." (36.38)

As can be seen it says that if the sun changed direction it would rise in the west. But if the sun changed direction in its orbit in the galaxy it would make no difference to the sun rising in the east, because it is the rotation of the earth that causes the appearance of the sun in the east. Therefore the claim that the quran says the sun has an orbit in the Galaxy is false.

Now do you or the op have ANYTHING new that proves anything other then youre delusional when it comes to sky daddy and wholy unqualified to have a discussion about physics or any other sciences that may actually provide actual evidence to actual questions that can actually be tested.

You never wondered why they don't bother to included the 2nd bit, "rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people", it sounds even more ridiculous than the first.

The sun rises on people, like off the tops of their heads? Or off of their backs? The reason why they never included the second part, is because it exposes the fact that both parts were obviously not meant literally.

How does one know which parts reflect reality, and which don't?
Personal biases?
How the "word of god" be subjected to picking and choosing?

There's no evidence that the Hebrews were ever enslaved in Egypt. Archaeology points to them having actually been the Canaanites all along. They didn't invade the Holy Land and take it from the people living there, they were the people living there and there was a social revolution that led to an upheaval of the ruling class.

Does there exist any process of elimination, which can help to separate fact from fiction?

Are you suggesting that Atheism is not necessarily rooted in logic? If so then I would agree. Also the reason that all three statements which are found in the OP can not all be correct.

But Religion is never based on Logic. At least some Atheists each their conclusions through reason, that is never true for Religion.

Therefore Atheism wins. Yay.

If multiple scholars all seem to agree that the Quran can be regarded as the finest piece of literature in the Arabic language then whats to "chuckle"?

Anwar Chejne, who wrote "The Arabic Language: Its Role in History"
Kristina Nelson, who wrote "The Art of Reciting the Quran"
Stefan Wild, who wrote "Encounters of Words and Texts: Intercultural Studies in Honor of Stefan Wild"
Suha Taji-Farouki, who wrote "Modern Muslim Intellectuals and the Quran"

Maybe a similar type of chuckle was taking place on the decks of the Titanic just before the ship went down? I have heard of cases where people sometimes laugh to keep themselves from crying.
