If they're not going to run it as a farm, how are they going to keep 500+acres in good condition? Without grazing animals to keep down the weeds, regular maintenance of drains and fences etc, the land is going to run to seed fairly quickly. When animals start straying and weeds start spreading, nieghbouring farmers will have a good legal case against them.

Typical New Agers - they don't have a clue about how to actually live on the land.
