You raise a fair point. I give Dr. Campbell credit for reading the primary literature. I would say that he does not have the right kind experience to perform a critical evaluation of the papers he discusses. I also think that he is engaging in a little bit of motivated reasoning concerning ivermectin. All of the compounds bind to all of the targets in Table 2 of the paper that we have been discussing, which is
in silico docking. IMO this suggests that one should take these numbers with a grain of salt.
My own work has made me familiar with docking studies, but I am hesitant to offer strong opinions about the work described in these papers (my previous comments bear this out). It would be different if I performed my own docking docking studies on a weekly basis.
