The UN, by it's nature, needs to be politically neutral and to do any good it has to be able to get disparate groups of people to cooperate. If Helen Clark couldn't work with the National Government, why on earth would anyone think she was capable of getting entire nations that despise each other to work together? She's demonstrating her full scope and capability as a leader.
