Or to put it another way, perhaps, what is the danger of the alt-right by itself? Why are they more than a bunch of jerks who spout off in the local bar and swear at their TV's? They are dangerous in part because they believe stupid things and because they enjoy favor and privilege. T**** has made a career of promoting stupid ideas and providing the violent hate groups with privilege and overt encouragement. The president of the United States has openly suggested that the solution to judges you don't like lies in the second amendment, has told Nazis to "stand by," has waffled even about whether or not it's appropriate to kidnap and murder a governor, and on and on. The behavior of the beast is the responsibility of the person who has fed, housed, and trained it.
