that Smollett was lying? No. But they were evidence that he was lying. And as the truth has come out, we have seen that these features were exactly what they appeared to be: evidence of a fraud.
The odds were in favor of it being a fraud from the start. That some people still refuse to understand that doesn't make the people who DID see it for what it was somehow wrong.
