The whole ideology of liberalism is based on emotion. You make decisions based on emotion, not intelligence or logic, remember its for the children.

All ideologies are based on emotion. The conservative ideology, for instance, could be said to be based on fear of change and the resulting uncertainty.

No mr centrist that isn't how you would describe the emotions of the conservative movement. It would be more aligned with patriotism.

No. It's more aligned with establishing a hierarchy in society. In the USA, for example, it's about creating/protecting the aristocracy.

Lol

Its not working too well is it.

It seems to working just fine. Many, if not most, politicians pander to the wealthy. Heck, Sheldon Adelson had a pageant of conservative POTUS candidates begging him for money recently.

1% of the country is voting so many republicans and conservatives into office, okaayy.

Patriotism? Explain that, just to show that, like "liberty", it isn't just a buzzword.

You must be joking. The rich have gotten richer and the middle class poorer. I'd say it's working all too well.

Yes it is a buzzword, especially to the right. The left calls it nationalism or something.

I'm at a loss, was there ever a time the rich aren't getting richer, you do realize how it works?

The poor are getting poorer because we have an advocate for the poor (leftist) in the Whitehouse. Are you getting it now?

Patriotism or jingoism?

The patriot says “My country, right or wrong; if right, to be kept right; and if wrong, to be set right."

The jingoist says only "My country, right or wrong".

Conservatives are clearly subscribing to the later with their refrain of "we don't do things that way in 'Muhrica!"

Patriotism is just an affection for one's place of origin or residence. Jingoidm is taking this affection to a point worthy of ridicule.

Nationalism is an ideological conviction that one's country is always in the right, must always be supported, has an inherent superiority by its unique position in history, "deserves a place in the sun", or rhe like. Typically, when the government does things a nationalist disapproves of, they rationalize this as the establishment acting against the interests or natural role of the sacred Nation.

I am in sales. Something one learns very early in sales is that all decisions are motivated by emotion. Each potential customer has a slightly different set of emotions that need to be leveraged in order to get an optimal response- from the customer who does research and testing who needs to feel that he/she has made the "smart" decision- to the anxious customer who is looking for the release of just having the project over and done with- ultimately, all salesmanship is based upon generating an emotional response.

Please stick to the topic of the thread. I believe it is something to do with USA Politics, the 2016 presidential elections, and maybe even Donald Trump and his potential for self-destruction as a candidate in the 2016 presidential elections in the USA.

I don't think Trump will self-destruct at all, as he seems immune to everyday human feelings of sensitivity and embarrassment (Palin too). No, I think the Eminences Grises of the GOP will track events and 'have a quiet word' or, failing that, find a way to stop him before he makes the party an utter laughing stock in the face of the world.

Eh, I don't really think that's happening. Trump’s positions, with the exception of his immigration stance, are not that radical. Even his immigration stance is not radical in comparison to most other countries. For example, if one gets caught sneaking into Mexico after one having been deported, the penalty is a 10 year prison sentence.

I wrongly predicted he'd be gone after the first debate. It only made him stronger. At this point I can't imagine anything he could do or say that would blow him up. Including what I consider to be sensible stuff, such as being in favor of single-payer healthcare and not supporting Kim Davis.

Pretty clear that Trump would say and do anything, and you would suport of make excuses for him.

Once again the difference between a Private Military Boys School and the Real MIlitary (real Military including the 3 oficcial service academies) is huge.

And some say real hair is nearly indistinguishable from a good wig.
