Yuri Felshtinsky is a historian and conspiracy theorist from Russia who now lives in the United States. He has written about the 1999 Russian apartment bombings, and is a Putin critic.
Could this be a step too far though? He's basically saying that Ramzam Kadyrov may have been responsible for ordering the Boston Bombing.
. The circumstantial evidence is a bit too wishy-washy for me to accept at the moment. Felshtinsky puts together a group of vaguely linked characters from Russia and The Caucasus who lived in the U.S. in the 2000s.
Though I cannot fully discard the idea because we all know how the KGB operated.
If I recall correctly, the FBI did receive multiple warnings from the FSB that Tamerlan was a terror threat.
Interestingly, in the immediate aftermath of the bombing, Kadyrov himself stated that it was suspicious that the U.S. did nothing after all those warnings. I assume there just wasn't enough dirt on Tamerlan to arrest him at the time.
