So the world isn't happy with America under Trump. I guess they liked the apologetic do-nothing, foreign relations idiot Obama as a president. Well of course they would. Obama's foreign relations was one of his biggest weaknesses, my opinion. Depends on who you ask and what they want.

No, you were right.

Jeff Sessions personally asked Congress to let him prosecute medical-marijuana providers

In his letter, first obtained by Tom Angell of Massroots.com and verified independently by The Washington Post, Sessions argued that the amendment would "inhibit [the Justice Department's] authority to enforce the Controlled Substances Act." He continues:

Sessions's citing of a "historic drug epidemic" to justify a crackdown on medical marijuana is at odds with what researchers know about current drug use and abuse in the United States. The epidemic Sessions refers to involves deadly opiate drugs, not marijuana. A growing body of research (acknowledged by the National Institute on Drug Abuse) has shown that opiate deaths and overdoses actually decrease in states with medical marijuana laws on the books.

Meanwhile, not even a year into his presidency, Trump has already manged to be many orders of magnitude worse Obama ever was.

But hey everything's an opinion these days. There are no things as facts. Nothing is true and everything is permitted, so there's nothing wrong with concluding that Trump is the greatest president America ever will have or can have ever.

Awesome: US, Russia announce Syria cease-fire after Trump-Putin talks

That love affair went hot quickly. Although as mentioned in the article, the SAA has declared a ceasefire there already a week ago and extended it yesterday, so there has been preparation for a while and Syria is on board.

Steve Bannon makes a funny joke. Everyone laughs at his comedy stylings.
Bannon apparently forgot for a moment who he works for and what party he belongs to and advocated raising taxes on the rich to pay for middle class and working class tax cuts.

Definitely not good for America, and yet, hardcore Trump supporters see nothing wrong with Trump, which brings into question, their mindset, which is on par with Hitler's supporters who thought that he would be good for Germany.

After just less than 6 months into Trump's presidency, look what has been creeping up.

The Memo: GOP talk of impeachment highlights Trump’s troubles

Donald Trump’s presidency is mired in such deep trouble that people in his own party are speculating about impeachment.

Would Pence Be a Better President? Republicans Think So As Trump Impeachment Calls Grow

Donald Trump is president. That much is true. But apparently, nearly every politician in his party would prefer that Trump's No. 2 take his position in the Oval Office.

The news site Axios reported Monday morning that Republicans' overwhelming support of Vice President Mike Pence compared to the president is a potential "landmine" for the former reality TV star turned leader of the free world.

Ah, I don't think you appreciate the difference. If Chelsea had stood in for a tired Hillary then that would have been a low-energy Hillary showing unforgivable nepotism and subverting the democratic process.

OTOH President Trump is demonstrating how completely he is not misogynistic at all by giving up the opportunity to attend the dinner and giving a well-qualified woman the opportunity to attend.

Ivanka was just distracting the pre$$titutes from the fact that Melania and Putin, seated next to each other, both fluent in German, were exchanging details about how to send them to Siberia.

By the time the two world leaders met for their bilateral meeting in the afternoon, Putin was better prepared. For the obligatory photo opportunity at the beginning of the talks, he and Trump were seated in adjacent armchairs with translators and officials to one side. Their body language could hardly have been worse. The Donald was perched on the edge of his chair, trying to appear in control though just looking a bit needy. Vlad sat back in his, determined to make little or no eye contact. He wanted to make the American president sweat and he was succeeding. There was no doubt who was the boss now.

The Donald is uncomfortable with lengthy silences and started filling the void with words. Any words. “We’ve had some very … uh … very good talks,” he began. “We’re going to have a talk now and obviously that will continue.” Putin looked down, trying not to smirk. They both had Russian-to-English translators but the Americans had clearly forgotten to bring an English-to-English translator.

“We look forward to a lot of positive things happening for Russia and for the United States and for everyone concerned,” Trump continued. “I’m delighted and it’s an honour to meet you, Mr President.”

Sensing he might already be out of his depth, Trump remembered the first rule of diplomacy his advisers had told him just that morning. If things feel tricky, do another handshake. You can’t go wrong with a handshake. The American president stuck out a hand, which Putin accepted. This time the Donald kept his other hand by his side. Round one to Putin.

Now it was the Russian president’s turn to reply. He stared at the floor, his voice seldom rising above a mumble. Trump’s eyes darted from side to side, unsure of where to fix his gaze. He wasn’t used to having to concentrate for more than 140 characters at a time. And even that was often a struggle.

Hamburg will also go down as a further mile marker in Europe’s slow emancipation from the U.S.

Washington may have signed the closing statement, but there was no real consensus.

Time and again, Merkel stressed the U.S.’s isolation on trade and climate issues.

“Everyone was against the United States of America,” on climate policy, Merkel said dryly.

Though Donald Trump complimented Merkel for her stewardship of the meeting, the German leader was not about to be charmed. Europe’s frustration over Washington’s withdrawal from the Paris climate accord runs deep. Merkel wasn’t about to pretend otherwise.

“The dissent wasn’t plastered over, but made clear,” Merkel said. She repeated what is fast becoming her mantra over the necessity for Europe to “take its fate into its own hands.”

If there was one winner at the G20, it was Europe. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker’s threat of swift retaliation against the U.S. if Trump imposed steel tariffs seemed to do the trick. Washington backed down, for now at least.

Brussels also basked in the glow of its planned trade pact with Japan and succeeded in putting the issue of migration on the G20’s agenda.

As the U.S. sheds its role as a defender of globalization and the liberal order, Europe is trying to preserve what it can.

Many Western liberals see Merkel as the champion of that effort.

As Germany heads toward a September election, Merkel’s Christian Democrats had hoped the spectacle of the G20 would offer a powerful coda to the chancellor’s latest term, an affirmation of her global standing.

Instead, it offered a reminder of her limitations.
http://www.politico.eu/article/europ...l-survives-it/

Evidently America was at its greatest before it was the hegemon of Europe or even before it was considered a great power at all.

Instead of leading the western world under Trump the US is losing its global standing and becoming an unpredictable, irrational outlier focused on the petty domestic issues at the expense of securing its own central position internationally.

Any agreement is only important to Trump if it somehow gives Americans more jobs or reduces the trade deficit, all other concerns are irrelevant or at most an after-thought. In spite of Americas great wealth, power and prestige it's current government is fixated upon satisfying their most basic needs at the expense of its own long-term well being, such as by working to mitigate the effects of global warming.

How can a people have so much yet complain that it's not enough and the world has somehow cheated them out of their fair share?

Trump has put America into a nose dive.

Talk about giving the beast way too much credit. If it really had such a reasonable, articulable agenda - and one that it was intellectually capable of successfully pursuing - the creature occupying the Oval Office might actually be tolerable.

It is an envisceration of Trump by an Australian Broadcasting Corporation reporter for his perfomance at the G20 meeting and beyond. Brutally on point. Worth watching.

That's one thing that unites Putin and Trump, hatred of the free press.

Worth thinking about long and hard. In response to comments that US leadership has been lost, the comments across internet media are full of GOP supporters stating something along the lines of "Oh, yeah? Well, I'm bigger and stronger and you need me, wimps." The good ole boys have become the goodfellas, and now wish to run a protection racket, which includes demanding "respect."

GOP = Losers. Trouser-dropping losers of first order. The permanent damage being done to US interests, let alone the planet, let alone their own public, is awesome to see.

Every year since 1990 the US Public healthcare spending has been greater than the UK as a proportion of GDP. More US Tax goes to healthcare than the UK
