And another war-mongering psycho gone: Senior Trump Mideast adviser removed following differences on Syria and Iran

The National said:
[...] David Shor, a Middle East policy analyst based in New York, said Mr Harvey’s departure should be understood in the context of “the Trump administration's recent change of course in Syria, and attempts at a new approach in regards to Iran”.
Mr Shor referred to the shift in tactics in Syria, focusing solely on ISIL while ignoring the Assad regime and abandoning the Tanf airbase following friction with pro-Iranian proxies in the area. The administration also ended the CIA programme to aid Syrian rebels. [...]
“There is no desire to take the fight beyond ISIL,” said one former official. Another former official who previously worked with Mr Harvey at the Pentagon said there were personality differences between Mr Harvey and his bosses.
“He is very hard to work with, and is obsessed with countering Iran,” the official explained.
Mr Harvey’s departure also comes as US seeks to test the Iran deal with more inspections. “The inspection process is sure to take some time, and will put the brakes on any non-compliance certification plans,” explained Mr Shor, framing it as another indication of a change in course toward Iran. The Mooch is definitely a Trump guy.

Scaramucci also told me that, unlike other senior officials, he had no interest in media attention. “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock,” he said, speaking of Trump’s chief strategist. “I’m not trying to build my own brand off the *********** strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country.” (Bannon declined to comment.)

He reiterated that Priebus would resign soon, and he noted that he told Trump that he expected Priebus to launch a campaign against him. “He didn’t get the hint that I was reporting directly to the President,” he said. “And I said to the President here are the four or five things that he will do to me.” His list of allegations included leaking the Hannity dinner and the details from his financial-disclosure form.

I got the sense that Scaramucci’s campaign against leakers flows from his intense loyalty to Trump. Unlike other Trump advisers, I’ve never heard him say a bad word about the President. “What I want to do is I want to *********** kill all the leakers and I want to get the President’s agenda on track so we can succeed for the American people,” he told me.

He cryptically suggested that he had more information about White House aides. “O.K., the Mooch showed up a week ago,” he said. “This is going to get cleaned up very shortly, O.K.? Because I nailed these guys. I’ve got digital fingerprints on everything they’ve done through the F.B.I. and the *********** Department of Justice.”

This isn't a Trump guy, it's a younger version of Trump. He attacks Spicer, Priebus, Bannon. And this guy brutally attacked Trump before he came on board. You gotta love it. The guy is staging a palace coup taking out everyone but the King.

Spicer's gone, Tillerson looks like he's going to leave, Sessions doesnt look long for this world, and the Mooch is trying to take out both Bannon and Priebus.

Boy Scouts issue official apology for Trump's speech at the National Scout Jamboree.

Whereas speeches given at the Jamboree normally focus on values and service, Trump focused on fake news, repealing the affordable care act, and boasting about his election night victory.

God, it's last season climax in 'Game Of Thrones"...

The attack on Bannon is going to be interesting.
And I predict Mooch and most of the GOP leadership will be at each other's throats in short order.

With all these direct report positions, exactly what "staff" is Priebus "chief of" at this point?

It's like herding cats.

It looks like the Mooch is just taking shots at Priebus because he can. Priebus like Sessions is a dead man walking. Trump is very unhappy with everything and is now blaming Reince. Insiders are taking bets on his replacement.

And his replacement will have a nickname of "Mooch".

To be the big thing about Mooch's rant is the attack on Bannon. Maybe Trump has decided that both the "Establishment" Republicans and the alt right crowd
are not sufficiently loyal to him.COuld be interesting.

I really am reminded of Cersai killing everybody but those who are personally devoted to her to become Queen on Game Of Thrones.

The Mooch is a more in line with the mainstream GOP than Bannon. Bannon is a cultural conservative and was pushing for a 44% marginal tax rate which is basically a reversing of the GOP priorities.

"Two sources who have known Scaramucci for years say that he has privately called Priebus 'Reince Penis'."

“The president specifically gave [Scaramucci] the green light to go after Reince”—on-air if necessary—one White House adviser told The Daily Beast, citing conversations with President Trump. Scaramucci himself claimed that he had secured Trump’s “blessing” for his words and actions in a phone call with the president prior to a Thursday morning CNN interview.

The “president is not concerned with Reince’s feelings,” the source added. However, Trump has no interest in personally firing Priebus at this time, preferring to delegate abuse of his own chief of staff—who Trump has been frustrated with for months—to his new comms czar nicknamed “The Mooch.”
Scaramucci’s offensive on Priebus began hours before his appearance on CNN, during a conversation with The New Yorker Wednesday night.

“Reince is a *********** paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac,” he told the New Yorker. The interview, published Thursday afternoon, made clear that, contrary to Scaramucci’s subsequent denials, he suspects Priebus of orchestrating White House leaks, and is engaged in a concerted effort oust him.

Good grief! It's amazing how much effort they put into ensuring the White House is as dysfunctional as possible.

And another twist to the saga: Scaramucci awaits U.S. approval for China deal which explains why he was so angry about his financial disclosure becoming public.
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Anthony Scaramucci, the Trump administration's new communications director, has yet to get approval from U.S. regulators to sell his hedge fund firm to a group led by Chinese conglomerate HNA, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Scaramucci agreed in January to sell SkyBridge Capital LLC to clear the way for a job working with U.S. President Donald Trump. That role finally materialized on Friday when Trump shook up his administration, prompting the resignation of White House spokesman Sean Spicer.
Apparently he has a lot of eggs in this basket.

I think that when we look back, we will conclude that this was the week the Trump White House definitively came off the rails and descended into the abyss. The Trump pressure to kill Obamacare resulted in complete disarray in the Senate, the unity of the Republican Party torn apart, and more support for Obamacare by the public, health care and heath insurance companies than ever before (and intense public anger against the Republican bills). The newly hired Mooch seems prepared to destroy any unity in the White House staff and to publicly undermine, insult, and attack the chief of staff (normally someone who would be his boss). Trump's son and son-in-law facing multiple investigations for possibly helping a hostile foreign power throw the election in Trump's favor. Trump publicly humiliating the head of the Justice Department, deeply antagonizing the Republican Senate, and convincing any present and future hires they will be thrown under the bus for almost any reason. Trump bypassing his top military staff to implement a thoughtless and cruel policy against the transgendered. Etc. Etc.

Trump is slippery Teflon in terms of popularity, but these events must surely render the White House disfunctional.

But then Trump mistrusts establishment Republicans.it is a confusing situation.
For Trump I am now convinced it is not about ideology but personal power and loyalty.

You left out the bat crap crazy speech to the Boy Scouts, which displayed Trump at his worst.,and led to something I never thought I would see:The head of the BSA making an apology for having the POTUS speak to the Boy Scouts.

During the campaign I said repeatedly, "Trump's ideology is Trump." He hasn't done anything to convince me that there are actually principles behind his actions since he took office.

If he was as silly and as vain as he appears to be he'd squander his inheritance to live an oppulent lifestyle, not make it what? Twenty times larger?

That said, it is also not necessary that Trump is the said persona. It could be anyone, or indeed everyone, in his inner circle. Bannon, Ivanka, Kurchner, or maybe someone we barely know about because he keeps a low profile. Or any combination thereof, really.

As I said earlier, contending Trump is a moron and there is nothing more to his antics than hubris and vanity invites underestimating him.

I agree he should not be underestimated - however I feel his charisma with certain types better explains his success to date than feigned idiocy would.

It took you that long?

Nah, I thought that from day one,but now Trump is proving it.He's is removing anybody, regardless of ideology, whose has any principals higher then Personal Loyalty to Dear Leader.
I can't stand Sessions, but he does have some principals above loyalty to Trump;that is why Trump has turned on him.

Cool. The Democratic Party could probably use someone like Bannon.

That was freaking four months ago at the end of the past season.. Way past spoiler date.

Well, it was over a year ago actually. But the point is, not everyone who watches Game of Thrones is completely caught up, and since we're in a thread that has nothing to do with Game of Thrones, you might have caught someone off-guard.

*Yawn* These "antics" mean nothing. Remember when Obama did almost irreparable harm to the presidency when he wore a light tan suit?

Yes.
No clue why the Joint Chiefs didn't start a coup d'etat when he didn't salute that soldier on Marine-1 properly.

The White House has been dysfunctional since mid-January, this just made it a little more visible. Trumps' presidency will come off rails when he faces major public backlash from his base and when his popular support is firmly below 30%, or else the Republicans suffer a series of humiliating defeats in 2018.

This has gone from possible to likely in the past six months. Another six months and it could be inevitable.

The point with (feigned or real) idiocy is not to give him popular support, the point is to overflow the media outlets who oppose him with criticism of Trump so once he does something that is more than just dumb but truly evil the resulting criticism won't have nearly as much effect than it should. The deplorables who form his base are defending him 24/7 so they will naturally defend him come something more than 'just' a public feud with a major apointee, lack of policy or appointments or a cringe-worthy speech to the Boy Scouts.

Think of it as a kind of jamming.

Congress is paralyzed with a GOP that can't agree with itself.

the White House is paralyzed with internal backstabbing and leaking.

And the new guy Scaramouche is working hard to sever the only bridge between the two - Priebus, preferably with an edged weapon.

With at least 1 1/2 years of total deadlock ahead, I think Putin got pretty much what he made his cronies pay for.

If his sole goal is to undermine the USA and the West then maybe, but the gain is quite temporary. If his goal is to uplift Russia then he's done nothing.
