Jeh Johnson, the secretary of the DHS during the 2016 elections, confirms that the cyber attacks were from the Russian government

So, a question for any of our pro-Trump posters - what consequences has the Russian government suffered because of this? What punitive measures has the US taken against them? Bearing in mind that Tillerson's statement about the Russians already attacking the 2018 election discredits Trump's justification for not imposing the sanctions that had almost universal Congressional agreement, which was that the mere threat of sanctions had worked. Anybody?

Oh, yes, I'd forgotten that that's a narrative some people were trying to push. Thanks for the reminder, I needed a laugh.

Keep ignoring the massive elephant in the room. The one that is asking why the Trump camp is trying to do everything they can to discredit the investigation,

They aren't. This is an idea implanted into you by the propaganda you consume. In fact as I mentioned the people investigating go out of their way to be nice to Mueller, and even Trump hasn't come up with a pet name for him. Horseface anyone?

Putin just announced his candidacy for tsar. That's two world powers he'll have dictatorial control over.

I moved a slew of off topic and bickering post to AAH. Please keep it close to the topic of President Trump and his potential connections to Russia and the investigation thereof. Whilst some posts concerning Hilary Clinton can be expected, when it starts turning into yet another Benghazi thread, it goes too far.

Perhaps Trump should be questioned by Mueller.. Trump really wants to do it, but his lawyers strongly advise him against doing it..I wonder why

The leader of the Russian opposition has posted a YouTube video in which he claims to have found information that strengthens the accusations about Manafort's role in influencing the 2016 election. I think this should be taken with a much larger dose of salt than other sources floating around about this subject, but it's certainly an entertaining video.

A different interpretation is that Trump is playing 1-dimensional tic-tac-toe

I don't get it.

1. You use a publication which you accuse of bias and being fake news.

Yeah, you don't get it. The Washington Pest reporting that this guy resigned is good enough for sourcing my claim. Just like Faux News is good enough to source the claim that Steele didn't show up to his London court date on Monday. Both aren't that kind of Fake News.

I understand that the line between news and opinion is violated on and from all sides, but this kind of "source criticism" is utterly stoopit and really just wastes everybody's time.

NPR reports Putin is officially running for president. Tsar was (slight) hyperbole. The main opposition candidate called for an election boycott, probably signed his own death warrant.

Putin announced his candidacy about a month ago, and Navalny isn't the main opposition candidate (I write that blindly without even checking the nonsense). Navalny has between 1 and 2 percent support, while both the ultra-nationalist and the communist candidates have around 10% support.

Yeah, but reporting not showing up for a deposition (initiated by Trump and his lawyers) as "going dark" then referring to the Nunes memo without even a mention of the obvious political hackery behind it is pretty fakey.

But then that's the kind of bull-crap Zero Hedge peddles

Oddly, I can't imagine Obama requesting some prostitutes to pee on him. Just doesn't fit.

On the other hand, I can completely imagine Trump with a ball gag doing exactly that. lol

I don't think that anyone was thinking Obama. But go back a few years and recognize that the pee tape story was published by someone with direct ties to Sid Blumenthal who worked for Bill Clinton and his family for years.

Not only can you can completely imagine Bill Clinton with a ball gag doing exactly that, it would not surprise me if it was based on a true story.

Unless you have something more than the person being the publisher, then that isn't enough to go on.

ok, I'll give you than on the Clintons. My point though was a general perception of the character of these two people. I don't have a problem with anyone wanting to get pee'd on BTW. Not sure I'd want my president to be that person though, maybe ok with his partner, but not with prostitutes.

Word is Trump didn't ask the prostitutes to pee on him, but to pee on the same mattress the Obamas had slept on.

Which, if true, is much worse. Can't judge a man for his fetish which is by definition beyond his control. But that kind of hate is just weird.

I see you neglected evan a token attempt at explaining why it was curious.
quelle surprise.

yes, I agree with that. I have always wondered if this Trump president thing was just all about his pure hatred of Obama (especially after he made fun of him at the White House Correspondents Dinner regarding his birth certificate).
