The Trump Presidency (Act V - The One Where Everybody Dies)

To adapt one of Trump's favorite stories, she knew he was a snake when she married him. It took her 12 years and five kids to have second thoughts? No sympathy here.
Well, I might have some sympathy for the kids. On the other hand, perhaps a divorce which at least partly isolates them from the toxicity of the Trump clan might be beneficial for them in the long term.

And hopefully Trump Jr. will end up in jail so that they won't have to worry about custody rights.

Two more possibilities:

- Trump is unable to retain memories and judges everything as if it was the first time he heard about it
- Trump is unable to make any moral judgement, period
There is another option, one which maybe requires more nuance than Trump has.

A program may do good work no matter who donates to it. A foundation may donate to such a program while also siphoning money to Clinton's friends or the Clintons. The good work by the program is still good.

Like I said, such nuance is likely beyond Trump, but there is no real reason that someone who thinks that the Clinton Foundation is corrupt should be compelled to conclude that every organization to which they donate is worthless.

ETA: Just to be clear, I don't have any reason to believe the Clinton Foundation is corrupt.

That's why they call him Fredo.

It was people in the Trump White House who gave him that name after he blurted out about the Russian Meeting, much like Fredo Corleone blurted out that he was pals With Johnny Ola in Godfather 2.

Good luck with that.
I still am amazed that the head of that group would brag publically about what he did.

This is the morality gap that we've created. Functional / normal intelligence sociopaths elevate through the modern corporate system quite nicely; their community is incomprehensible to people with consciences.

Meanwhile in Hollywood, a TV show producer boasted about how he sexually assaults women. Getting away with felonies against normals is a source of pride for this type of neuroatypical.

Well, at least Melania has a hobby...

From: http://time.com/5206742/melania-trump-forum-cyberbullying/
Melania Trump is hosting executives from major online and social media companies to discuss cyberbullying and internet safety
...
Mrs. Trump announced in a speech near the end of the 2016 presidential campaign that her priority as first lady would be to fight cyberbullying. A native of Slovenia, she at the time lamented a U.S. culture that she said had grown “too mean and too rough.” It was a curious speech for a woman whose husband uses Twitter to dismiss people as losers and taunt them with unflattering nicknames.

Sad that such a noble idea such as stopping cyberbulling has to be undertaken by someone who's family revels in it. She can't even stop her husband... what is she going to tell all these computer companies? "Do as I say, not as I do"?

Problem is in the case of the CA guy is it was so STUPID.
The whole success of the company was based on keeping a low profile, flying under the radar. Now he exposed it to massive scrutiny, and it's likely it won't survive.

There is a reason this has been called "Stupid Watergate"

Hard to say. In this corporate environment, it could be free advertising.

I mean, maybe they'll have to rebrand or something, get a new logo or whatever, but I expect their careers are safe.

Accenture was Arthur Andersen, what was left of it.

Correct, sorry, Arthur Anderson.

From where I work (a Canadian telco) it only ended up in them swapping out a few execs. Their management contracts did not take a hit that I could see.

Andersen not Anderson

But yes, the consultancy split off in 1988 between me getting a job offer and starting work.

Wow, the Russian whore just congratulated his john for an election victory. I'm sure the announcement of the meeting was to ensure Trump will have an opportunity to congratulate Putin on bended knee.

Some media are referring to him as a whistleblower. The narrative is he had no idea just what he was getting into when Cambridge Analytics and Steve Bannon got together to discuss business. Overall it appears this man is no fan of Trump--at one time he worked for the Liberals in Canada.

Was Trump University a failure? It made a lot of money and he didn't have to pay most of it back after all. You have to use the proper metrics for success and failure in this case. As long as the losses are not on his balance sheet all those can count as successes.

So you don't mind normalizing theft and fraud?

The point is that theft and fraud can both be either a success or a failure. Not for the victims, of course, but a positive outcome for the victims is not how you measure success for those activities.

Lawrence O'Donnell pointed out tonight that Trump is the first president in history to require White House staff to sign non-disclosure agreements, and yet he has the leakiest administration in history. The guy is too incompetent to even get intimidation right.

From what we have been hearing, he needed to sign one himself, perhaps more than anyone else.

It's going to be tough for him to stop the leakers as long as he is the biggest leaker of them all.

I guess as long as he doesn't run out of scapegoats he'll manage, but can the supply be infinite?

Ouch

As a Russia analyst for many years, it also has appalled me that hosts who made their reputations as super-patriots and who, justifiably, savaged President Obama for his duplicitous folly with Putin, now advance Putin's agenda by making light of Russian penetration of our elections and the Trump campaign. Despite increasingly pathetic denials, it turns out that the "nothing-burger" has been covered with Russian dressing all along. And by the way: As an intelligence professional, I can tell you that the Steele dossier rings true--that's how the Russians do things.. The result is that we have an American president who is terrified of his counterpart in Moscow.

...So, to all of you: Thanks, and, as our president's favorite world leader would say, "Das vidanya."

Stories circulating that top GOP officials are working overtime to talk Trump out of firing Mueller, since they feel that would be pretty much handing the November election to the Democrats...

Oh, Ralph Peters, the fascist psychopath known (especially in the region) for his unbelievably arrogant map where he fantasizes how the Empire should carve up the Middle East to make it "better" through creating a lot of little ethno states with "blood borders".

Having him as an enemy is a honour, applauding him in sheepish ignorance is an embarrassment.

I hardly think having anything at all to do with Donald Trump short of flushing him down the toilet being an honor. I'm just afraid he'll reappear in the sewers as Pennywise the Trump Clown.

Well, despite Peter's rather harsh Conservative views, and that it took him so long to finally realize Fox News improprieties, at least he was able to understand the Russians truly are working against the U.S., partly in thanks to an ineffectual President who really needs to be removed from office

The Russians are working against Peters' bloody delusions which have nothing to do with "conserving" anything but with destroying the lives of countless more subhumans on the other side of the planet.

Then why did you suggest it?

The independent charity assessment felt 95% of the donated money went to the causes and 5% went to administration, IIRC.

No, too antithetical to Trump's narcissism. Trump will eat up the hobnobing and Putin will be laughing every time Trump is out of the room.

If you call Trump a success without adding thief, you are normalizing his atrocious behavior,

Trump is a successful con artist and thief, that's it, end of story. You can think what you want.

Would you also call Bernie Madoff a great businessman had he not been arrested?

I could hardly believe he congratulated Putin for rigging another election. One where Putin jailed his opposition. Look at all the people Trump criticizes and yet he continues to keep his nose deep in the crack of Putin's behind.
