Those nice folks at cluesforum don't like NASA. They don't particularly like anyone, but NASA and anyone who has ever been anywhere near them are automatically bad people out to defraud and hide the true nature of the universe and its workings in order to..erm..something something dark side.

In order to free the world from the tyranny of science, knowledge, facts and education, the forum owner has left his sock puppets in charge and worked on a new model of the solar system. The background and discussion is here

http://www.cluesforum.info/viewforum.php?f=34

and the model itself here

http://www.tychos.info/

By new, he means "heavily borrowed from an old model that was modified and supplanted when new knowledge came along".

He has been asked some tricky questions, and his answers are mostly "I don't know, but I'm right, so shut up".

They have asked NASA to comment. NASA won't bother so this will fuel their fire even more.

I am not an astrophysicist, so I am not in a position to comment on it, but perhaps people here might have fun with it :)

So, the earth orbits Mars. I see. I've never heard of this forum. Clueless, did you say?

Well that is truly nuts.

maybe this belongs in the general science section rather then conspiracy?
There is lots of looniness out there, and this section is devoted to a specific type:Conspriacy Crap.

I would bow to the superior judgement of mods - I tend to forget there are other fora here. While the reason for this 'theory' being written is rooted in conspiralunacy, it is one they are putting forward as a genuine explanation for observed phenomena.

Obviously he's put some skull sweat into this, but... is he just takin' the piss?
Is that how things work over at Clueless? Like (I suspect) the majority of Flat Earthers?

If Sol/Mars is a binary (with us orbiting Mars), how does he figure that we watch Mars disappear behind the Sun, frequently, yet never does it transit across the face.

I don't even want to think about how this affects the observed motions of the outer planets.

What a maroon. :(

Every event is a false flag. To become a member one must first agree that everything is a false flag.

Now you know all you need to know about it.

It includes things such as the recent Florida shootings or any of the high profile events but also rather obscure local events. For instance, recall that helicopter that crash landed on a pub in the UK a while back? That was a false flag because...WTF?

It is comprehensively potty.

To be cruel I posted a link to that 'theory' on the Cosmos/bad Astronomy forum - they of course had never heard of it!

What a surprise!

They're relying on a theory that existed before Newton described gravity?

That's just weird.

Not to the clues Forum members. Newton's laws of motion are false as far as they're concerned just as jet propulsion in a vacuum is impossible as there is no air to push against.

I seem to remember that being disproven a rather long time back.
As far as Newton, it is amazing how many generations of physics students have done and redone the calculations - which always worked for them.

Ahhhh hell with it!! They are just ignorant slime with no reason to continue their existence.

Where is it? I can't find it in the "against the mainstream" or "CT" sections.

Oh sorry I misspoke. I put it not in a thread but in the question section asking if it had come up. I think they might send me hate mail if I actually put that 'stuff' up. Oops I see Ranb answered it also

Jet Propulsion in a vacuum is impossible. I suspect you actually meant Rocket Propulsion.

We need their existence. They make everyone else, no matter how stupid and ignorant, look like towering geniuses by comparison.

From the Website comes this boner

"In the TYCHOS, the Sun and Mars are both escorted by a pair of moons (Mercury & Venus and Phobos & Deimos, respectively) which are all tidally locked to their respective hosts."

First Venus does have a day, only its rotation is retrograde and its day is longer than its year. Mercury has a day of approx. 59 days. In both cases they are not tidally locked.

NASA “won’t bother” to comment, as if NASA was some sort of monolithic entity.

In other words, random internet nuts send gibberish email to someone they found online, or fill out a form on a website with gibberish, and don’t get a reply. Yawn.

Cluesforum...for those who found Godlikeproductions too skeptical.

Last I looked it was 5-6 guys all trying to out-conspiracy each other.

Picky picky picky!

Wait.

which are all tidally locked to their respective hosts

So, they dislike modern physical theory enough to rewrite the entire layout of the Solar System, but they still think tidal locking is a thing? How does that work if gravity theory is all just a conspiracy?

Well, compared the this most the alternative cosmology people here are well-reflected and rational. In fact, I think that flat-earthers make more sense; all they require is a bit of magic.

Id be surprised if the old bad astro members of cosmoquest wouldnt remember the clueless forum, thats where I first heard of it, several of their members was posting about the fake moon landings at bad astro for a while

Yep, that's the one. I, for gits and shiggles, once tried to join. Didn't even get a denial email.
