I'm gonna make the radical assumption that a when a high level legal person like Mueller or Berman goes after the the sitting President of the United States they are gonna make sure their i's are dotted and their t's crossed.

I'm going to be skeptical and not make an assumption one way or another.

I don't get it.

"Raiding the lawyer would then seem to me like a last resort sort of thing"

Meaning if you connect the raid to Trump...

I thought Squeegee was connecting the raid to Trump.

Fair enough, in context to your response to it being about trump. Sorry :o

Raiding the lawyer would then seem to me like a last resort sort of thing, where you haven't found anything you can use, so figure out a way to take the drastic step of raiding the lawyer's office.
Considering that this raid was conducted by a FBI unit and not the special counsel.... would any of the information obtained from this raid babe shared with Mueller to begin with?

after it was properly vetted for attorney client privilege, there is no reason at all that the information from this raid relating to the Mueller appointment (Russia interference) could not be shared with Mueller's team, indeed we saw something similar happened in connection with the Wiener investigation.

ABSOLUTELY.. Anything that doesn't fall under attorney client privilege will be shared. It might be a bunch of nothing when it pertains to the Russia investigation but they will want to be aware of clues that might help them.

Ninja'd by TBD.

You guys have interesting filter-glasses on.

Is this really the only reason you can see for the Cohen subpoenas?

Because there have been dozens of other reasons cited in this thread alone.

And last resort was not one of them until your post.

There were however, lots of reasons one had to have some serious incriminating evidence to get a warrant to search any attorney's office.

Yep, most likely.

But possibly they think it's the only way left to find something on Trump.

Campaign finance law violations don't seem serious enough to go and raid Cohen.
This constant convenient forgetting of all the evidence against the Trump campaign and including Trump directly is mind-boggling.

There must be a dozen or more posts in this thread alone listing the evidence you seem to think doesn't exist.

If you have serious incriminating evidence then you don't need a raid. You already hold in your hand what you need to prosecute.

They must be speculating on what will be found.

That's not why judges give search warrants. You have to spell out what you think you'll find and why you think it's where you want to search. The bar in this case is particularly high because DOJ has special, higher standards to search a attorney's office or residence.

Out of curiosity, is this warrant published yet?

Are there any pictures or videos of the raids? Are they taking out some folders, or is it like a muscleman moving crew haul out?

:boggled:

Are you just trolling today or what? By that standard no one would ever need a subpoena for anything, they'd already have the evidence.

You can never have too much corroboration.

Exactly.

You may have what seems to be some very incriminating evidence that someone more than likely committed a crime. But that isn't enough evidence to convict somebody which requires evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. The burden is much higher. It's the search that sometimes transforms a case from borderline to airtight.

You really should read all the posts before you respond.
