TRrump is now using the "just kidding" excuse for his Colorado remark.

Really? Well, I'm just kidding when I say that he's a lying sack of **** and the world would be a better place if his mom had ******** instead of ******* when the garbage man ****** her and then lied to Fred that the demon spawn was his.

I don't believe you're kidding, you didn't use a smiley.

No, that's still in the hyperbole bucket. And I'm not a fan of hyperbole, it's generally over-used. But the accusation wasn't that this was unnecessary or inappropriate hyperbole (which most people also don't object to, they only object when the wrong people do it), but that the specific term was offensive. And it's not, not really.

You're white, aren't you?

Read that survey. Wow, talk about biasing the questions!

What would you prefer: Being hit in the head with a giant sack of ****, or agreeing Pelosi and Schiff are poo-heads out to personally get President-for-life Trump.

This may be a bit overtaken by subsequent events, but I put together a handy guide for those perplexed about the most obvious of the various quids pro quo in the partial call transcript:

If you'd like a little break from all the disasters, read this tongue-in-cheek opinion piece.

You wrote questions like that for a mock poll in any course in statistics and polling, you would get a automatic F.

That was amusing! My favorite:
Donald Trump Jr.’s protests about Biden family nepotism this week, while ignoring his own, can only be termed a quid pro bozo.

Semantics game form Zig to follow.....
Look, I know there was quite a bit of lynching done in the American West that had nothing to do with race (the necktie party for Horse thieves, etc) but racially motivated killings are what the term has come to mean.

This whole "Dear Leader is incapable of error" routine is the most annoying thing about the Trump supporters here .

Actually there was very little lynching done in the American West. The numbers of African Americans lynched in a single year during reconstruction dwarfs the numbe of white Americans lynched throughout US history.

And that’s another reason the 25th Amendment exists.

If the president is in jail he can no longer execute the duties of the Office.

If they send him to a prison with a golf course and access to Twitter he'll be able to do just about everything he's been doing, but without the really damaging stuff, like destroying the environment or setting fire to the Middle East.

Might be the best choice.

Also, why does Trump even bother periodically trotting out the Ukrainian president's denial of impropriety? Zelensky is not stupid. Of course he's going to deny it.

Or, alternatively, he is stupid and didn't realize he was being extorted, so Zelensky's intelligence is completely irrelevant.

Hey, Zig. This is great. I'll bet you can find some quotes of libtards calling true-blue Republicans "scum". Go for it, man. Get ahead of the hypocrisy.

I'll even make it easy! When a person or group, far too frequently Republican, shows that they're utter scum, I have called them such. I suppose I'll say this with the note that I really do not like having excellent reason to call anyone scum, though.

Of course... Trump's quote has now been expanded and expanded upon by his Administration.

"Human Scum." Press Sec Stephanie Grisham doubles down, expanding it to all who are "against" Trump

I think that she's quite earned the title of scum herself, either way.

Semantics game form Zig to follow.....

Quite a bit, sure. Still, when the numbers are apparently that about 73% of the lynchings were done to black people overall, there's probably not too much reason to qualify it like that.

This whole "Dear Leader is incapable of error" routine is the most annoying thing about the Trump supporters here .

Mmm. The ones here seem not to defend that position much. It's not incapable of error, it's that he's not uniquely bad. That he's not currently worse than Hitler AFTER Hitler had so very, very many people executed. That he's still better than Hillary would have been, despite Trump and co doing pretty much everything that they criticize Hillary for doing (including the outright lies about her) and doing it so much more and brazenly.

Other news time!

Donald Trump Is Creating “Anchor Babies” for U.S. Illegal Immigrants

The result of Trump’s policies is an ironic failure for him: denied of family planning, these people are now the most likely part of the US population to have unintended pregnancies that result in new, poor, young US citizens, the so-called “anchor babies” that Trump has so insidiously declared have been purposefully planned by immigrants.

This effect is not insignificant: a nonpartisan research organization, the Migration Policy Institute, estimates that undocumented immigrants have given birth to 4 million children in the US so far; 90% of them are estimated to be conceived on US soil. The latest annual figures available indicate undocumenteds gave birth to 250,000 babies in 2016, and that was before Trump policies caused a surge in immigration.

In fact, Trump has created the perfect conditions for increasing the families of undocumented parents with “anchor babies”. Even Breitbart is trumpeting the birth of anchor babies.

It's almost like the Trump Administration's policies were actually intended to magnify just about every problem they're working to "solve" when it comes to foreign countries. Like his trade war with China that's made the bogus excuse for it bigger and, in the incredibly unlikely case that China actually gave Trump what he's demanding in the way of intellectual property law changes, would lead to a lot more American jobs being sent over to China. Trump's Tariffs, Killing American Jobs for the sake of giving American Jobs to the Chinese.

Moving on! Regarding the morons who "stormed" into the Congressional hearing, there's a couple things to say. First, they're all fairly certainly unindicted felons now on a couple counts, such as Conspiracy to impede or injure officer (18 U.S.C. 372).

Also...

Do Republicans think their voters are complete idiots? Their Trump defenses sure look that way
Republicans' cosplay protest was based on a largely correct principle: Their voters will swallow anything for Trump

Of particular note from that...

The talking point to justify these antics was that, by having closed door meetings, House Democrats are being "secretive." At least, that claim was made in a press release from terminal wingnut Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., who declared that the protest was a demand for "increased transparency and inclusion in the impeachment process."

This claim is dumb for a couple of obvious, glaring reasons. First of all, Republican members of the relevant committees are included in the hearings, of course. In fact, 13 out of the 41 Republicans who participated in this stunt were fully entitled to attend Cooper's testimony and ask her questions. Second, the only reason Republicans are in such a panic is that they know that the evidence coming out of these hearings is extremely damaging for Trump — which they wouldn't know if the process were actually secretive instead of leaky as a sieve. Third, Republicans know full well these closed-door meetings are just a preliminary to the public hearings likely to begin in November.

Uh huh. Incidentally, looks like Tulsi was on Fox, repeating the moronic claims of the Republicans. There's plenty more, of course, but... moving on!

Unaccredited for-profit colleges received $11 million in student aid under Trump administration

Guess who is taking funds out of the public trust and sticking it into shady private businesses? If you said, “A Trump official,” you guessed it! According to documents released by the House Education and Labor Committee, the Department of Education funneled $10.7 million in federal aid into for-profit colleges ineligible to receive such funds because they aren’t accredited institutions.

Urgh. This is yet another indication that there really, really should be a huge number of people in the Trump Administration prosecuted for the crimes they've committed, both because they quite earned it and as a warning to future Administrations.

The US Justice Department has launched a criminal investigation into the origins of the Mueller inquiry, US media report.

An administrative review into the Special Counsel's investigation began in May.

But the switch to a criminal probe means investigators can now issue subpoenas for testimony and documents.

Democrats have no concern for the rules.
Pelosi violates House rules and her majority gives her a free pass.
Schiff fabricates a phone call to deceive the public and Democrats refuse to hold him accountable.
No surprise from the party of a sham “impeachment.

Where is the Whistleblower, and why did he or she write such a fictitious and incorrect account of my phone call with the Ukrainian President? Why did the IG allow this to happen? Who is the so-called Informant (Schiff?) who was so inaccurate? A giant Scam!

And that is another interesting thing. There are something like 100+ Congress people in the SCIF for this inquiry, of which roughly half are Republicans.

With all those Republicans in attendance, there has not been one single thing favourable to Trump that has leaked out.

Why?

Because nothing favourable to Trump has been testified to.

This is the entirety of the Republican complaint with the congressional investigation as far as trump is concerned. His only weapon is providing and repeating his false narrative to counter any information that is harmful to him. That's been his mo from the beginning.

Yep!
Hence the banning of the NYT and CNN from white house press breifings, but giving a press pass to infowars.

Elected GOP officials and their toadies spend a lot of time trying to portray extraordinary things as mundane, and mundane things as extraordinary. For instance:

When Trump shook down Ukraine, that's extraordinary. No, Trump isn't simply a good deed doer who is generous with his compliments and concerns. "Nice place you got, shame if something happened to it".

When the House Intel committee meets, that's mundane. No, Republicans aren't locked out. This is how it's done. On top of which, the most frustrating limitation -- the inability for minority to subpoena -- is a rule change implemented by the Republicans during Benghazi hearings.

Equal parts sanctimony and hypocrisy.

Another big dropout of the Presidential race was, along with 0% Tim Ryan, 0% @RepSwalwell. Such talk and bravado from both, and nothing to show. They stood for nothing, and the voters couldn’t stand by them. Obnoxious and greedy politicians never make it in the end!

So Congressman Tim Ryan of Ohio has finally dropped out of the race for President, registering ZERO in the polls & unable to even qualify for the debate stage. See Tim, it’s not so easy out there if you don’t know what you’re doing. He wasn’t effective for USA workers, just talk!

Turkey fully understands not to fire on the Kurds as they leave what will be known as the Safe Zone for other fairly nearby areas. I don’t have to repeat that large scale Sanctions will be imposed for violations. Going well! ISIS secured by Kurds with Turkey ready as backup.....

....USA has gained Trillions of Dollars in wealth since November 2016. All others way down. Our power is Economic before having to use our newly rebuilt Military, a much better alternative. Oil is secured. Our soldiers have left and are leaving Syria for other places, then....

....COMING HOME! We were supposed to be there for 30 days - That was 10 years ago. When these pundit fools who have called the Middle East wrong for 20 years ask what we are getting out of the deal, I simply say, THE OIL, AND WE ARE BRINGING OUR SOLDIERS BACK HOME, ISIS SECURED!

I see the Butina whore is getting out of prison. She's the prostitute Putin sent to "sleep" her way into the NRA. She's supposed to be deported back to Mother Russia.

Hehe, I bet The PDJT is gonna be pissed when he finds out his news gaggle was pre-empted for Clinton's and Obama's eulogies for Rep. Cummings. But it was CNN, whose reporter he called "fake news" shortly before that, so there.

Those issued subpoenas should just ignore them. That’s the new normal, right?

God, Obama was not holding back in his eulogy...we all know who he had in mind with that reference to King Ahab and Queen Jezebel....

I've been wondering about US subpoenas lately. I'd always thought they carried some force of law, and that there might maybe be a penalty for ignoring them.

Is this like that old thing - "If you owe the bank a thousand dollars you're in trouble. If you them a billion dollars they are in trouble"? Sort of?
