in an interview on Maddow's program.

More than one outside observer has commented that the pattern of behavior suggests that they were setting up for a mob-style "hit".

As a former mafia prosecutor, this sure sounds like a mob hit was being planned on a public servant in a foreign country by associates of the POTUS. A POTUS who said she was “going to go through some things.” This takes Trump’s lawlessness & misogny to new level.

Robert F Hyde is probably ******* crazy. I guess he would totally have tried to hire people to kill Yovanovitch if he thought the order came from Trump via Guiliani and Parnas.
However, I doubt he has the street-smarts to find some actual killers and not just some scammers who would take his money and disappear.

His bio on Wikipedia certainly sounds that way. His excuse is that he was drinking a lot at that time. Which was just a few months ago.

The FBI raided his home and office this morning.

Put on a mental health watch after claiming a hit man was after him while at one of Trump's golf resorts, being requested by the CT GOP party to end his campaign after making sexually suggestive remarks about Kamala Harris, and having a restraining order (which he broke) placed on him for stalking a woman....yep, he sounds like a real jewel.
He also sounds like someone who, being an ardent Trump supporter, would be a very useful idiot for someone like Giuliani.

Regardless of the seriousness of the charge that someone was planning something physical against Yovanovitch, it makes Trump's creepy statement that she would "'Go Through Some Things," creepier. Like maybe it was discussed but not seriously with Trump. Perhaps Giuliani suggested it might happen when talking to Trump.

(Trump is reprehensible. There is no need to gild that turd blossom.

Or.... just political dirty tricks. You have lost objectivity on things, its still not too late for that walk in the woods.

Trump and the GOP are already guilty of treason and other high crimes, what's a little murder to them at this point? Lev had best watch his step, stay away from windows, and make a public declaration that he is not suicidal.

The problem with shouting "conspiracy theory!" is that we are in fact in the middle of one of the biggest conspiracies in US history. Even the GOP-controlled Senate Intel Committee agrees that Russia is actively interfering in our government.

Trump denies he knew Parnas or ever met him. That's not what Parnas says.

Trump:
"I don't believe I've ever spoken to him."

"I don't need the help of a man that I never met before other than perhaps taking a picture at a fundraiser."

Parnas told Anderson Cooper that he sat at the same table as Trump at a private dinner for a Superpac at the Trump Hotel and told Trump directly that Yovanovich was bad mouthing him. Parnas said that Trump became angry, called John Distefano over and told him to fire her.

Expect Trump to claim Parnas was just a coffee gopher next.

Notice Trump's careful wording: "I don't remember meeting him."

I would not trust any of them as far as I could roll them with my left hand. A bunch of wannabe mafiosi the lot of them, including Trump.

I suspect the reason their antics have not led to actual physical mayhem is some of the adults in the room have been quietly in the background grabbing some wrists and wrenching some arms up behind some backs and telling them Trump is an idiot and to quit fooling around making things worse. Not all of them listened...

Parnas says he believed Hyde was BSing.

Joe Sarno: So, you the brains of this outfit, or is he?
Longbaugh: Tell ya the truth, I don't think this is a brains kind of operation.

Is it still a conspiracy theory when one of the alleged conspirators is making the claim of what he did and appears to have evidence to show it?

I love the CNN bit on Don Lemon (?) where they showed a montage of photos of the two of them as well as video of them partying at Mar-A-Bedbug.

By the way, this is not me suggesting it might have been a hit being set up, this is the what multiple legal experts with knowledge of the Mob and how it operates are openly SAYING. Mimi Rocah is a former Federal Prosecutor who tried many mob cases. She knows what she's talking about.

Best joke I saw, paraphrased from Twitter:

All of Giuliani's associates look like characters from an abandoned Grand Theft Auto 5 expansion.

These guys just ooze mafia-style malice and idiocy.

All because you say so? Last I heard it, the Courts decide that, not some random left winger given to hysteria.

The problem with giving hysteria undue consideration is then you in the name of equal time need to give it to the wing nuts on the alt-right side, and before anyone scoffs, yes there are "those" on both side. The OP is essentially proof of that.

And finally -- finally! -- the Ukraines have agreed to open an investigation.
Ukraine has launched criminal investigations into the possible illegal surveillance of former U.S. ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, and the reported hacking of Burisma Holdings, the natural gas company at the center of the Trump impeachment..."Ukraine cannot ignore such illegal activities on the territory of its own state," the statement added. This clown Hyde sounds like a small-time loser and wannabe. A flea on a dog's butt.

From his Wikipedia page:

In May 2019, Hyde was taken into police custody at the Trump National Doral Miami after telling an officer that "a hit man was out to get [him]", and was detained under the Florida Mental Health Act and Marchman Act.[14][15]

In 2019, Hyde was also reported to police for trespassing at the First Church of Christ in Connecticut.[16][17]

In November 2019, Hyde was compelled by a magistrate to make child support payments to Jennyfer Morin to support their 13-year old child.[15][18] He was also sued by Between the Bridges, LLC for failing to pay fees owed to a marina in Old Saybrook, Connecticut in January 2019, and by a landlord in Simsbury, Connecticut in February 2019 over unpaid rent.[18][2]

Hyde violated a restraining order issued by a judge in Washington, D.C., ordering him to stay away from a female Republican political consultant who said Hyde was stalking her, leading police to confiscate three rifles and two shotguns from him.[17][16]

Yeah, small time loony scumbag who wannabe somebody big.

Ya, I am sure the intent was there, but not the capability. Granted, actual mobsters who did pull off hits have also been shown to be pretty dumb themselves.

I am conflicted about this. The Weakling is known to employ mob tactics. He has sent goons to intimidate witnesses, plaintiffs, vendors he didn't want to pay etc. He held his nephew hostage by refusing care for his ailing son. He speaks like some made for TV movie mobster. He has no idea how international relations work, so he's going with what he knows.

But another hallmark of his is to surround himself with people just as dumb as himself who also talk themselves up. Roger Stone, Carter Page, Seb Gorka, etc are all just hacks who talk themselves up to seem important. To look way tougher than they actually are. So discussing physically harming an ambassador without really meaning to go through with it is fairly plausible.

The problem is, at that level, the false bravado has very real consequences. Hyde and associates may have just been acting like tough guys, but they did so in an environment where their words could have been acted on.

I like to say its as if the people who make SyFy originals took a crack at Goodfellas

I came here to say this. Seeing that it was already said, I would have just left it at that. However, since it is Cain, I wanted to reiterate that this is not a Poe Cain-ism. Parnas really did say that in his Maddow interview.

Aside, I'm now establishing the head cannon that his name actually "Poe Cain".
