Trumps Presidency through the eyes of a right wing patriot

Trump has created jobs for all Americans. Minorities never had it so good. He has kept or tried to bring back jobs from countries like Mexico and China. He has put us to work.
Hardly, Trump says he created 12,000 new factories and 500,000 jobs. Now, those figures are kind of true. But there is little reason to believe his policies are the reason. The total number of manufacturing jobs actually declined. You simply cannot look at a few data points and get a picture of what has been happening.

Over the last 20 years manufacturing jobs have declined by about 4 million. It was even worse in the preceding 20 years. But yes, factories are coming back to the good old USA. This is because of increased automation. It used to be cheaper to hire someone in a third world nation to make it and ship it back to the US. But machines now makes most everything. It's now cheaper to have the machines here and eliminate the shipping cost.

If you actually look at employment figures, you will see an increase in employment under Obama for his last 7 years in office. In comparison Trump is responsible for not dealing with COVID quickly and we now have the highest unemployment in my lifetime.

Comparing Trump with Obama who once gave Iran one of our enemies over a billion dollars Trump puts the interests of America first.
You mean unfreezing Iranian assets in the United States that had been held for 30 years? Something the IMF and the World Court ordered.

The people who hate Trump are the same people we see burning and looting our cities and assaulting our citizens.
I hate him and I haven't looted or assaulted anyone. But maybe if America didn't treat people of color so badly they would not riot.

I'm of the opinion that the Clintons are responsible for several deaths. Strange unsolved murders and deaths of their enemies.
I'm sure you do. Not that you have a shred of credible evidence. But ISF has a thread for crazy conspiracy theories. BTW, Clinton hasn't been POTUS for 2 decades.

At least when you go against Trump you get to stay alive.
Trump 2020.
Tell that to Jamal Khashoggi

:dl:

Very amusing, CainKane1. You almost had me there.

...unless you think ranking poorly in education, healthcare and income inequality, among other things, makes a country "close to ideal".

I wonder who he thinks it is ideal for?

A semantic quibble about the thread title: “right wing” and “patriot” are contradictory terms.

As already noted, no, that's really not fair.

However, I would question the purpose of the word patriot in the thread title. Is it there to warn us that it describes the views of a particular, strange sort of right winger; one who is also a patriot? That seems highly unlikely.

Is it there to imply that the writer believes patriotism is synonymous with right wing politics and people with other views are not patriots? I wonder.

I also noticed the use of the word "patriot" by the OP. The right wing has appropriated the use of the word as if only they are 'patriots'. To them, anyone not right wing doesn't love America. Just listening to Trump rant about the "liberal/do nothing/corrupt/weak/rioters/looters Democrats has reinforced this view that they have. It's sick.

Yeah, but that was all Obama's fault. He was too weak to tell those commie, lib-tard, pinko faggots at the IMF and the World Court that 'Merica don't take no orders from nobody!!!!!!!!!

... which is kinda funny, since the original US patriots were about as left wing as you could get at the time, fighting against King George's oppressive, ultra-conservative monarchy.

Hate to break it go you but more jobs were created under Obama than Trump.
"Obama created 1.6 million more jobs than Trump over a three-year period."

Comparing Trump with Obama who once gave Iran one of our enemies over a billion dollars Trump puts the interests of America first.

I suggest you try fact checking. But, here...I've done it for you:

But Trump has repeated the claim as recently as December, when he tweeted: “The Democrats and President Obama gave Iran 150 Billion Dollars and got nothing, but they can’t give 5 Billion Dollars for National Security and a Wall?”

First of all, former President Barack Obama didn’t give “150 billion in cash” to Iran.

The nuclear agreement included China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union, so Obama didn’t carry out any part of it on his own. The deal did lift some sanctions, which lifted a freeze on Iran’s assets that were held largely in foreign, not U.S., banks. And, to be clear, the money that was unfrozen belonged to Iran. It had only been made inaccessible by sanctions aimed at crippling the country’s nuclear program.

The people who hate Trump are the same people we see burning and looting our cities and assaulting our citizens.

I detest Trump with ever fiber of my being and I've never looted or burned a city or assaulted anyone. I've never so much as had a traffic ticket. OK...I once got ticket for parking in a handicap space because I forgot to hang up my mother's permit. Went to court with my mother and her permit and the judge threw the ticket out. Trump has lied about the protesters who have been overwhelmingly peaceful while the rioters and looters have overwhelmingly been common criminals and gangs taking advantage of the police being elsewhere. Very few actual protesters were looting or rioting. But leave it to Trump to lie about that. What can you expect about someone who even lies about the size of his inauguration crowd and where his father was born?

At least when you go against Trump you get to stay alive.

Based on what? The Republicans investigated those rumors numerous times and came up with Jack ****. Your hero is even now accusing Joe Scarborough of killing an intern based on nothing but rumors. You can ignore the fact that he's a pathological liar but I can't. No one with more than half a brain can.

Trump 2020.

Only if people continue to stick their heads in the sand or put their fingers in their ears, close their eyes and chant "lalalalalalalalalala" while Trump is destroying the country around them. Dunning-Kruger in action.

The Founding Fathers wouldn't have tolerated Trump for a minute. They would have despised him for the authoritarian he is.

Don't you know, that's the new approach for Trump? At Mt. Rushmore it was "Left wing fascists". They have to define their enemies in 3 words or less.

Since Cainkane1 mentioned "assaulting our citizens", I have to admit he's correct. Hundreds of documented incidents of innocent citizens being assaulted. By the police.
Worse yet: Trump himself unleashed goons to violently attack a crowd of peaceful protesters. Witnessed by all, caught on camera. I challenge CaineKane to watch the video footage. If Obama pulled a despicable stunt even remotely like that, there'd be a lynching mob.

Supporting a violent, racist, wannabe dictator is at diametric odds with any notion of patriotism.

But think of his defense of your "beautiful, beautiful statues". Surely he must be given some credit for that? :covereyes

Ronald Reagan asked the voters this question in 1984 during his bid for reelection.

"Are you better off? "

A simple referendum on his Presidency. Clinton asked Americans that question both in his election in 1992 to win the presidency over George H. W. Bush and to win reelection in 1996.

Do you really think Trump wants to ask that question?

It should be noted to our "right wing patriot" that in a recent poll, Americans were asked an often repeated poll question. "Is America headed in the right direction." 75 percent said we were seriously off track. Trump's favorable unfavorable rating was 39 percent favorable and 59 percent unfavorable.

The Founding Fathers wouldn't have tolerated Trump for a minute. They would have despised him for the authoritarian he is.

Some of the Founders might not have objected to his authoritarianism. But they would universally have despised his ignorance and corruption. And since they risked their lives to guide a revolution, they might not have thought much of his bone spurs either.

Some, maybe. Hamilton probably. But generally speaking, they would not be happy with an administration tearing down checks and balances as Trump has done.

Wow! I just watched the Mount Rushmore Fireworks extravaganza and I have to say that Gov. Kristi Noem is smokin' hawt!!*

*in a cougartastic kind of way!

Donald Trump, lifelong criminal and unrepentant conman, doesn’t care about you.

Isn't that what Trump was going to drink to protect him from covid-19?

Oh wait, it wasn't Oxyclean, it was Clorox.... and he wasn't going to drink it

This is almost certainly the mindset. And I'll just note, for the folks trying to resolve a disagreement with the OP by citing facts and figures to prove him wrong, that you're probably wasting your time- to that same mindset, it's the mere disagreement with him that makes you wrong, facts and figures be damned. You literally can not argue with someone for whom the argument itself is what makes them both right and righteous, all you can hope to do is outvote them.

You might be right. Let's use a simple binary fact to test it out...

@Cainkane1 Will you concede that the money "given" to Iran was actually Iran's money that had previously been frozen?

Perhaps some of you USA-ians can explain something for me: I had bone spurs on both heels operated on here in the UK in 1978 in a standard NHS hospital when I was at university; how come the son of a millionaire in New York could not, a few years earlier, find an orthopaedic surgeon capable of dealing with such things? Is the NHS that much better than what a millionaire could pay for?

Trump 2020.

You know, I appreciate CainKane1 taking the time to briefly discuss his views. Certainly, I think he's terribly mistaken, but I don't think hostility is the right response.

Too often on this site, we have threads where people mock Trump supporters for not even trying to defend Trump or describe why they support him. Cain did that here and that's a worthwhile contribution. Obviously, it's perfectly reasonable to point out where his opinion is misguided or even (in the Clinton murders conspiracy bit) off the wall, but he deserves some respect nonetheless.

This is absurd. You can't support Trump and be a patriot. To support Trump is to betray your country. Trump supporters just aren't real Americans.

I strongly disagree.

Anyone who spreads lies and propaganda - including unfounded murder accusations - in support of an amoral huckster who is causing death and suffering through his venality and incompetence has forfeited any right to respect.

I do agree it is worthwhile contribution (in sense that we know what is going in mind or republiloon). It is still laughable.

Why?

We laugh when they can't say anything as you said.

Why we wouldn't laugh if they actually can say something, but that something is delusional claims full of paranoia and lies?

There is no inconsistency.

I agree.

My issue with most people I disagree with is their epistemology. Do they have a logical rationale based on a solid premise? Cainkane has provided his reasons for supporting Trump. You have to respect him for that.

That said, is he willing to examine those reasons critically? Where did he get his information? What would he think if that information was false or maybe just a half truth? What if the context of the information made a huge difference? What if his conclusions were based on fallacious syllogisms?

My biggest question for Cainkane is what he thinks makes a patriot? Does wrapping the American flag around oneself make one a patriot? Or flying a big flag from your pickup make you a patriot? Is defending monuments to traitorous racists make one a patriot? How about getting 4 deferments to avoid military service?

Seriously, what makes one a patriot?

Trump is filling his pockets while destroying America. No one who supports him is a patriot.
