The Great "Transhumanism" Debates!!!! :)

Hi.

I saw this:

http://futurisms.thenewatlantis.com/...o-be-good.html

where they argue about the morality of using "transhumanism technology" to "make people good". Now it seems the bulk of the post is concentrated on "forced" uses of the technology, it does mention this:

Quote:
The difference between transhumanists and more serious ethical traditions is that transhumanists think that because nature is not perfectly designed, it is completely up for grabs — while others acknowledge that ethics is about learning the best way to live with our natural imperfections. In this sense, trying to eliminate the aspects of our nature we don’t like would not be a moral “enhancement,” but would rather be a profound change in the meaning of a moral human life.
So do you agree, that it would be fundamentally evil to try to use this kind of technology, if it existed, to increase our morality beyond what we could do otherwise (and so get world peace, and what would a "serious" ethical system in the sense mentioned above here have to require saying about things like world peace, which is the issue which makes me interested in this thing)?
