Well, if it's a troll, it's a very dedicated one. Patent applications cost thousands of dollars, and they've been pursuing that one I posted for 10 years. There were about 6 examiner's reports, and it eventually went to the USPTO's appeal board before it was granted. It's rare to put that amount of effort into any patent application, let alone one you think is a joke.

So I'd bet they are an honest scam artist, looking to horn in on BLP's shtick.

I'm a little surprised they didn't put more effort into their website, then. Still, kudos. It's not like Mills can call them out and say "hey, it's all a load of bollocks, really!", and I doubt he'd actually want to try to enforce any of his patents, because that would undoubtedly bring more scrutiny.

Oh, absolutely. I'll make another prediction here: We will never see BLP sue anyone over patent infringement, even if BLP gets a patent issued, and the other party is clearly infringing.

For guys like this, patents aren't about protecting their intellectual property, they're props in their act, used only to soothe any doubts that might occur to their "investors". "Of course we're legitimate! We've got patents, they don't give those out to just anybody!" Free energy scammers (and other types of scammers) have been pulling this trick for decades.
