No it is. What isn't realistic is thinking that a codified constitution is somehow better than a non-codified one.

As I said it is all about who holds power.

Pitmatic for the win. It's why some of my vowel sounds are different even to Geordies.

I've just checked the cable company's on-screen guide. We have a choice of 14 channels to watch it on. Admittedly there's some redundancy as some are available either in HD or not. But there's one in Spanish showing "El Rey Carlos III".

There's been a last-minute change to the programme! Charles decided early last this evening that he wants everybody to be on rollerskates! He feels this will add fun, whimsy, and efficiency to the ceremony. The main theme music has also been changed to the soundtrack from Xanadu, one of his very favorites.

And this bit - A Lambeth Palace spokesperson told reporters earlier this week: “Oaths and commitments of allegiance are very much commonplace all over the country, from parliaments and assemblies to the church, police, armed forces, citizenship ceremonies and even in scouts and guiding.” - is purest bovine faecal matter. I'm in my mid-60s and have never, ever at any point been asked to spout any oath of allegiance to Brenda or anyone in the clan. Mebbe my dad did during his National Service. May happen sometimes, but "very much commonplace" - just no.
I guess you've not worked in the Police or Military...

Some people in UK at least recognise what a giant cock Chucky is:

No doubt Murdoch's rags will be calling for the death penalty.

I think it's clear that Camilla has always been the love of his life, and on a personal level I'm actually quite glad for him that he's finally got to be with her. If he'd been allowed to marry her when they first fell in love much unhappiness (including Diana's) could have been prevented.

You have to remember that we're comparing old Camilla against young Diana. There's a number of photos floating around of both of them in their twenties and early thirties (some of them having both women in the same shot) and it's much of a muchness for looks really.

I have BBC One on with the sound muted so I can watch the procession whilst listening to the concert now taking place in the Abbey on Radio 3 rather than the innane commentary.

I don't think the rain god likes Charles.

I'm round the back of the Abbey right now and it's barely drizzling. Weather needs to make up its mind. I was sure it was going to be a lot worse. Still time though. The clouds rehearsed pelting down yesterday.

I’m watching just because my football team is losing and in the hope Chuck trips and breaks his neck.

But more seriously the Brits do pomp and ceremony well. Of course, that is one of the very few things they do well.

Oh, has it started? I've got the TV on, but that's downstairs and I'm upstairs, just finished processing and sharing photos from gigs from the last two days. Off to Reading after lunch to cover another day of live music, avoiding (not intentionally) the street party that will be breaking out in our road this afternoon, weather permitting.

I didn't enjoy watching a Hindu being obliged to essentially praise the Christian god in a Christian church.

Your second paragraph could easily apply to me and my wife of 40 years. Is is a sad thing that there are people in this very thread so shallow and immature that they would seriously write posts similar to your first paragraph.

enjoy? obliged? essentially?

Fascinating choice of words. Implying that there was some sort of coercion involved?

Most likely he was asked to say what he said, found nothing objectionable about it, and agreed to do so.
