When they say "no hats required", it's because they will be supplying adequately shielded tinfoil hats, right?

Oh no, you've just started a meme. TSA is going to be so confused when a thousand passengers heading to Las Vegas all have tinfoil hats in their baggage! :-)

For those of you who know the CFI staff, Pat B. will be back co-coordinating CSIcon with Barry K. as she trains her replacement for when she really retires this time!

We are looking for volunteers as usual. Volunteers get a free t-shirt, a free ticket to the Saturday night party, and the Volunteer/Staff dinner (probably Thursday before the reception). Please see here to sign up. Volunteers must be registered to attend; we don't get free admission. You will be scheduled for about four hours of time, but never during anything you paid for. We don't miss any part of the talks.

What's really neat is how they blur out the speaker's photos
so you'll be surprised by what they look like. Naomi Oreskes
looks a little like Groucho Marx.

Guess which browser I'm using? It saves images in webp format.

P. S. Now I'm getting more of a Gene Shelit vibe.

Also worth noting: My Table of Scientific Curiosities will be back this year, as well!

Leighann Lord had been the host of NECSS a few times, when George wasn't available. She is a very funny lady.
