Business attire is stupid.
Women have generally been given much more leeway traditionally in what is acceptable business attire, so it is a bit rich complaining when they're given rules that are still less strict than the men's. That said, both should be the same and much more loose. But what do I know about fashion? I'm fine with everyone wearing tight sportswear or robes and cloaks, like every scifi movie has told me the future would dress like. (Which are pretty solid trends for the last twenty years come to think of it.) |

Imagine if a LOT of members of the Missouri congress turned up to work dressed like that...
We actually have such people at our work! They are professional clown doctors. Unlike those in Missouri congress who are neither doctors nor professional. |

Does this count as 'stupid'? Or disturbing? Or just sad?
From: AP News A failed Republican state legislative candidate who authorities say was angry over losing the election last November and made baseless claims that the election was “rigged” against him was arrested Monday in connection with a series of drive-by shootings targeting the homes of Democratic lawmakers in New Mexico’s largest city. Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina held a news conference Monday evening hours after SWAT officers arrested Solomon Pena.... at least five people, including Pena, were involved in the shootings. Pena is accused of paying the others to carry out at least two of the shootings Note: according to the article he lost the election by 48% but still claims it was 'rigged'. |

More on Solomon Pena:
"It is believed that he is the mastermind behind this and that was organizing this," Medina told reporters in front of a projected picture of Pena wearing a red hoodie that reads "Make America Great Again" in front of two Trump flags." But I'm sure there's no connection between the right-wing rhetoric and these shootings. ![]() |

This seems like the appropriate thread for this article:
Wyoming Republicans take a stand, want to ban electric cars So basically it seems Wyoming Republicans seem to have decided promoting EVs is some sort of spiteful attack on their state and decided to waste time and energy accordingly. |

Hmmm... seems to me these morons are following in the footsteps of their beloved Trump's toddler level antics. I think Super Nanny Jo may need to be sent to Wyoming to sort them out:
"The politics of resentment come through loud and clear from the bill's primary sponsor, State Senator Jim Anderson. Anderson told the Cowboy State Daily that if successful, Wyoming's legislature would inform the rest of the world that "if you don’t like our petroleum cars, well, we don’t like your electric cars." |

Hi Jim,
No, we outside your little coterie of numpties don't like your petroleum cars. Especially American petroleum cars. Haven't for many years. Aren't going to buy any because we have been getting much better petroleum cars from other countries that aren't America. So you can keep them. As for electric cars, we will consider those seriously and not just actively avoid them because of some stupid fetish for sniffing petrol and diesel fumes. Already they are proving cheaper to run in a lot of cases. So you good ol' boys stick with your rolling-coal anachronisms of the early 20th century, while the rest of the country and the world move forward in the 21st. Cheers from Oz. |

Are they going to set up checkpoints at the borders and prevent electrics from driving in? Or just stop tourists in Teslas and shoot them?

I do not recall the name of the film, but there was a mocumentary about a neighborhood in Jackson Hole where a bunch of houses are owned by rich people that don't actually live there. Nobody really lives there. The film treated the situation as a mystery and speculated that the servants ate their masters in the houses.

I think of him as "rogue who should be drawn, quartered and gibbeted." He wouldn't have lasted long in the Middle Ages.

Kari Lake seems to think she's running a shadow government in Arizona, calls for special legislative session.
