It depends on the Holocaust denier. In many cases, they do indeed deny it because they think Hitler was great and that the Holocaust is a big lie created by the Jews, designed to sully Hitler’s good name when Hitler was actually trying to save Jews from the Holocaust perpetrated without his knowledge and that only proves that Hitler was right about the Jews hence it excuses the Holocaust and there should be another one.

I think you are giving him too much credit, even for his ignorance or his obstinate refusal to become less ignorant before he says stupid things. But I suspect Ye does know, or thinks he knows, who Hitler was, and is more in accord with his ideas than a decent person should be - enough, it seems, to be ready to deny what he ought to know better, as fake news and Jewish lies. It's inexcusable idiocy any way you slice it I think, and in a rational world I think everyone who hears him say anything at all should just tell him to shut the **** up.

For the same reason they cover what actors or sports people say. A big proportion of the general public fawn over these people or take enjoyment in their downfalls. Reporting their utterances drives traffic.

It's circular. Then, there was another link to a story that Kanye "stormed out of an interview" with Tim Pool because Pool didn't want to indulge his Hitler praise. Apparently Fuentes was also present for this interview.

Evidently, because Pool refused to play into one of the oldest antisemitic tropes around, Ye considered it a bridge too far. Before Pool could get another word in edgewise, West rose from out of his chair and silently marched out of the studio.

Oh, and for laughs, Newsweek did a fact check on whether Hitler invented "highways and microphones" (of course not). Although the Autobahn was built in the 1930s, Hitler didn't "invent" it any more than Al Gore invented the Internet. And there doesn't seem to be any basis at all for the idea that he invented the microphone. (He used microphones, of course, but that's not the same as inventing them.)

I disagree with that. He didn't deny the Holocaust, just the raw numbers. I don't think that makes him a denier that horrible atrocity occurred. A lot of people question the numbers.

I don't see Kanye as having evil intent; I see him as relatively ignorant and insane.
