The clause "with pre-existing conditions" refers back to "I": Trump is referring to his own pre-existing condition, which is of course malignant narcissism with a side order of senile dementia and purest Jersey-style madness.

Trump claimed there was an imminent threat. Something that has already happened is not "imminent". If Trump and Pompeo had claimed the attack on the Baghdad embassy was the cause, that would be one thing. But "imminent" does not refer to something that happened days earlier. Some people have trouble with the POTUS blatantly and continually lying to the American people and some clearly do not.

Trump would just be posting on his FB page instead if Twitter didn't exist.

SOCIALIST! Real Americans don't want any government regulations keeping big health corporations from screwing them over!

And then there's SOCIAList Security. I bet Trump supports that too!

GWB was capable of listening to advice and was capable of putting the country’s needs ahead of his own.

Is there a word for simultaneous misfeasance and malfeasance?

Just more of the "Democrats love terrorists and THAT is why they don't want to get into a war with them!" BS that the Republicans have pushed before. That's compared to the reality, of course, of Democrats being strongly against Soleimani's killing for a number of reasons that have nothing even remotely to do with loving terrorists or shedding any tears about the death of Soleimani.

Luckily for the Trump Clan, none of them have the imagination to realize that their Daddy has painted a big target on their backs.

GWB listened to advice...but that advice was often from those he should not have listened to: Cheney, Wolfowitz, and Rumsfeld.

I agree that GWB believed he was putting the US first. Trump puts no one and nothing before himself.

Thoughts that would go through my head before trying that

1) OK, he is definitely the kind of guy who would shoot someone who tried to pull a phone away from him, but I feel very certain that the USSS wouldn’t let him have a gun.

2) He’s going to yell for help and when the agents run in he’ll say “shoot that guy, he attacked me,” but if I don’t have a weapon, they won’t shoot me.

3) He’s going to tell the attorney general that I should be executed for attacking him, but it is not a capital crime.

4) it will mean the end of my career, but I may be setting a good example for others. If enough people followed my lead, the country would be better off. On the other hand, he’d probably insist that in the future, two armed agents stand by him during phone calls so I’d be throwing away my career for nothing.

5) no. The better plan is to have a switch that disconnects the phone. He won’t know what happened and we can blame it on the technology in the other person’s country. I’ll get the NSA working on that right away.

I’m not entirely convinced that he is able to comprehend that he and the United States are two different entities.

Trump bragging on Fox how profitably he is selling US force protection to South Korea and Saudi Arabia is disgusting.

See the difference in tone, in respect, the differing level of the exchange? But the worst part is, apparently Trump has been doing the opposite of what he is claiming. Proving he is totally untrustworthy. How do people support a president no one can trust? A man who is a serial liar. A man many people feel is basically a con artist, so many people that it seems reasonable there's at least some truth in it.

Yesterday a Trump cultist I graduated from high school with was claiming the Australian wildfires were fake news. He also claims Sandy hook was a false flag using crisis actors and that Trump has never done anything wrong.

It's both amazing and terrifying how crazy his supporters are

The whole display was disgusting - it looked like he didn't know what he was supposed to do. Melania had to direct him, and she had a couple hand pulls away from him.

He was irritated by NFL players kneeling during the national anthem. Which isn't written down.

What is written down is the US Flag Code, which says you should never display or transport the flag horizontally. I'm sure our idiot commander in chief will jump right on that unpatriotic gesture.

There are other Trumpanzees that are spreading fake news that the Aussie fires are caused by many arsonists, I guess to prove that climate change has nothing to do with it.

Well at least now we know that the U.S. can easily cut military spending by a few billion more...

From: https://www.vox.com/2020/1/14/210653...l-construction
...the White House will use last year’s national emergency declaration to pull $3.5 billion from military counter-drug enforcement, up significantly from the $2.5 billion taken from the same program in 2019. An additional $3.2 billion will be taken from Department of Defense construction projects for additional fencing projects. The number is more than five times the amount allocated to barrier construction by Congress for 2020. The funds transfer would bring the total amount devoted to border wall construction under Trump to $18.4 billion.

Oh, and keep in mind that when Trump first started campaigning, he claimed that the wall could be built for $4 billion, and "mexico will pay for it".

Seriously, how can anyone who supports the military also vote for Trump, given the fact he is harming soldiers in order to build his monument to bigotry?

Many (most?) of his supporters agree with his bigotry.

He managed to graduate from high school? Must have been before the brain rot set it.

It must be terribly frightening for someone who thinks the deep state has the AWESOME power to fake worldwide news about a whole continent on fire.

Oh, I agree... the bigotry runs deep among the Republicans in general, and Trump supporters in particular.

But the republicans also claim to "love the military". That is some mighty big logical disconnect, to vote for a politician who is harming the military just because he's sharing your racist delusions.

Everybody has their personal priorities. Supporting the military is good but keeping America white is even better.
