Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson: Apparently not all that fond of women

Fox News Guest: Allowing Women To Vote ‘One Of The Greatest Mistakes That America Made’

Quote:
PETERSON: “I think that one of the greatest mistakes that America made was to allow women the opportunity to vote. We should have never turned that over to women.”

“It was a big mistake…these women are voting in the wrong people. They’re voting in people who are evil, who agree with them…Men in the good old days understood the nature of the women, they were not afraid to deal with them.”

“Wherever women are taking over, evil reigns.”
I have heard of this guy, but never knew all that much about him, except that he was often portrayed as a sort of "Anti-Jesse Jackson" due to his conservative leanings. Well, his views on women sure are "conservative". He apparently thinks that allowing women to vote, or hold any positions of power or influence, is destroying society.

Apparently the Rev. Peterson is an occasional contributor on Fox News, and Sean Hannity is a board member for Peterson's BOND organization. He seemed rather bemused when Kirsten Powers brought up the unbelievably misogynistic things Peterson has preached about (very recently, in fact). It makes one wonder if Hannity shares any of these views.

ETA: I wasn't sure where to post this - I thought it might also fit in with US Politics due to a potential tie-in to the whole GOP War on Women - so I put it here. If a mod decides it belongs in US Politics, that's fine with me.

I wonder about his thoughts on how men "in the good old days" understood "the nature of" non-whites?

He's got that covered, too.

Peterson has previously said he “thank[s] God for slavery, because had it not, the blacks that are here would have been stuck in Africa.” He also called the victims of Hurricane Katrina “welfare-pampered,” “lazy,” and “immoral.”
And he said African-Americans should be sent back to the plantations to "learn a proper work ethic".
