In case you hadn't noticed, neoliberals or "progressives" in western countries are fairly consistent in advocating for lowering the 'age of maturity' (consent, voting) to sixteen, some of the more deranged (demonic?) to as low as fourteen.

Kids are much more likely to vote for the left side of the spectrum. As Orwell said, every 16-year-old is a socialist.

The late, great Sean Lock said it best when he borrowed the Brexiteers' catch-phrase "Not Our Future" when he pointed out that a 90 yo isn't voting for his future, but the future of those 16 yos. Seems reasonable to me to give them the vote.

After all, we allow people with maturity of three-year-olds to stand for office, so teens shouldn't be a problem.

The late, great Sean Lock said it best when he borrowed the Brexiteers' catch-phrase "Not Our Future" when he pointed out that a 90 yo isn't voting for his future, but the future of those 16 yos. Seems reasonable to me to give them the vote. After all, we allow people with maturity of three-year-olds to stand for office, so teens shouldn't be a problem.

I started referring to those achieving office in the UK as "bloodless freaks" years ago, and for Australasia I give you the likes of Jacinda Arden and the hideous Daniel Andrews.
