I dunno about that! He's got/had (?)* Alina Habba, whose specialty was general counsel for a parking-garage company.
![]() * I wrote got/had (?) because The Fat Orange Turd changes lawyers more often than a prostitute changes their knickers, so I don't know if she is still on his lawyer team, and I can't be arsed trying to find out. |

As of 12 hours ago, at least as reports the Guardian, Trump has retained no new lawyers and is still represented by Todd Blanche and Chris Kise.

Yes, they're reporting there were not many protestors. Hahaha, Trump.

As of Feb 2022, they were: Christopher Kise, Evan Corcoran, Christina Bobb, James Trusty, Lindsey Halligan, Boris Epshteyn, John Rowley, and Timothy Parlatore.
https://economictimes.indiatimes.com...3.cms?from=mdr Of these, the highlighted have since left that team due to, supposedly, "infighting". |

trump flew from Miami to New Jersey after being arrested and arraigned today. A rally was held at the trump National Golf Club in Bedminster at which trump addressed his supporters. About an hour ago, in a live update, the New York Times reported, "Trump’s motorcade is rolling into Bedminster as “Suspicious Minds” by Elvis Presley plays over the loudspeakers." trump spoke for about thirty minutes. Times reporter Maggie Haberman commented that she found it striking "how little energy" trump and his supporters showed. And that after finishing his remarks, "He pumped his fist and mouthed, “Thanks," and left the stage."
He did nothing wrong! Everybody knows it! When he was being booked today, the officers processing him -- tough hard-bitten seen-it-all federal officers -- they were crying! |

I have a concern that it will simply take one juror to engage in Jury Nullification and Trump will walk.

I think it is a valid concern to worry about a single MAGAchud juror blocking a guilty verdict. (Technically it would be a hung jury, rather than jury nullification.)
But, in the case of a hung jury, the prosecution would still have the ability to re-file charges. (In an actual jury nullification, every member of the jury would vote not guilty and the prosecutors would not be able to touch trump for this particular set of crimes. I don't think that will happen here.) |

I keep hearing that Trump's Igor doesn't have a lawyer, is this true?

I think thats bordering on a safe assumption. And, electorally/politically speaking its kind of a win for Biden. The trial dragging on all the way past the November 2024 election is just fantastic for him. If Trump is found guilty and is punished (house arrest most likely) the GoP would probably solidify around one candidate, likely DeSantis. But with the trial still ongoing a lot of the MAGA people will stick with Trump in the primaries.

In 2020 Joe Biden carried Miami-Dade County over trump by 'only' 53%-46%. However, the wildcard is that someone who supported trump in 2020 may be a Ron DeSantis supporter now.
Why would that matter? To paraphrase trump:

The problem is Trump is already starting the "You have to elect me in 2024 to save me" routine with his followers. Trump's whole thing (still very loosely ranted but coming together somewhat) is if he gets back into office in 2024 he's pardon himself (or do something functionally the same) and punish everyone who came after him which is bad enough on its own but also sounds like a really good first step in the larger power grab they've all but been announcing is the end goal.
I'm very weary of basically turning the 2024 election into the defacto trial. Especially since if Trump takes office again in 2024 that's it, that's the end and if he loses there's still only like a 1 in 10 chance of him facing any type of real consequence. The Republicans have done a very good job of making justice and a political hit look like exactly the same to a lot of people. Is any of this for sure? Of course not I like to think "we're in weird times" is something nobody here will be called upon to defend too strongly at this point and yes it absolutely could go the way you are saying just as easy. But it scares me as a non-crazy possibility. |

“There are probably 787 million things I can say … about what we saw last night,” said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, alluding to the settlement figure Fox News recently agreed to pay to settle a defamation lawsuit. “But I don’t think I’m going to get into it.”

In the vaguest statement ever uttered outside of my wife telling me what she wants for dinner, FoxNews says it has "addressed" the onscreen graphic, without saying how it was address, how it happened, why it happened, or why any of us should believe it wasn't on purpose.

Clearly they're still employing all those interns who used to "accidentally" put the letter "D" next to the names of Republican politicians whenever Fox News ran corruption stories.

Just read an article that suggested the chance (remote as it is) that Trump COULD be subject to additional charges over the documents, but in New Jersey.
From: The Atlantic ...public speculation swirled about whether the former president had taken classified documents not just to Mar-a-Lago but also to his residence and golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.... According to the Justice Department and a taped recording of the former president, Trump took classified records from Mar-a-Lago to Bedminster, where he showed off the contents of such records to others.... The thing is, Trump's indictments involve him hiding the documents, but they don't have anything on disseminating the information in them. Smith COULD bring additional charges over that in New Jersey, where that particular crime happened. (It might help to get around the issue of Cannon possibly presiding over the case, and the case being held in a Trump-friendly state.) |

I did not know until just now that last night's rally at trump's Bedminster Golf Club was actually a fundraiser! Fresh from his arraignment on criminal charges in a federal court, trump flew to New Jersey and -- ca-ching -- cashed in!
