I watched some of this live. Fascinating to watch. The wrecks are at about 5,100m depth (16,700 feet), which apparently is below the average Pacific depth. For comparison, the Titanic is at 3,800m (12,500 feet). They visited USS Yorktown (only second visit to that wreck), Akagi (first visit), and Kaga (2nd visit, if I recall correctly). Yorktown is surprisingly intact; Akagi is badly damaged, with the flight deck entirely missing and the upper part of the island (containing the ship's bridge) also missing, and Kaga is very badly damaged, with the stern missing, and not only the flight deck missing but the hangar deck as well.
For those wondering why the view is bobbing: The video is from a towed remotely operated vehicle, ROV, named Atalanta. They normally use what they call a two-body system, with a second ROV named Hercules attached to Atalanta by a flexible tether. However, Hercules is not rated for that depth (if I recall correctly, it's in the 3,000m range). They did have a different ROV they planned to use, but it had technical issues. As a result, they improvised to use just Atalanta, which is directly connected to the ship by an armoured cable. This means that all ship motions are eventually transmitted to the ROV; apparently it takes about five minutes. During the live stream I could hear the ROV navigator talking to the ship bridge every so often with commands like "Please move 100 meters at bearing 250". This would take a while to translate down to the Atalanta ROV as a slow move in that direction. Embedded:
