Apollo Film Digital Interpolation

One of the members over at Apollohoax.net has been working on digitally enhancing and interpolating original NASA film & broadcast footage from the Apollo missions

This is his latest effort, the Apollo 16 deep space EVA - original 16 mm on the right, interpolated TV on the left (the interpolated version doesn't appear until about 25 seconds into the video)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A0O...ature=emb_logo

A truly stunning effort. You can see more and some technical details in the thread at apollohoax.net

Amazing! Now it really looks like something Kubrick might have done!

I think you have that backwards, from the video description:

So, the left image is the original 16mm film (originally 12fps, interpolated to 24fps, no other enhancement noted), and the right is the TV (no enhancement noted).

This is really more a 1960's TV vs 1960's film comparison, not a 'cleanup'.

Very cool!! I like that you can see what Buzz is doing in the reflection (which network TV docs usually try to minimize). You can also see that the exposure is far from Stanley Kubrick perfect with the moon surface being quite blown out. Take that, Apollo hoaxers!!

I'm going to call this a proof-of-concept/experiment

Apollo 11 flag deployment interpolated from 1 to 8fps (8x interpolated) . This took like 2-3 days to complete.

Naturally there is a copyright claim on the audio that I have already filed a dispute for.

Looks nice! Without the original video footage it's difficult to see how much work was done. (Yes, I know the footage is available elsewhere.)

That whole YouTube copyright thing -- government photos, video (and I assume audio) is automatically in public domain. I hate those ******* squatters that have no legitimate claim but do so anyway.

Yeah but not that great at revealing the real details, ie the wires on the harnesses bouncing the "spacemen" on the "moon".

Seriously, these are really good.

Suck it up, moonhoaxers!
You can see that the dust churned up by the rover acts nothing like it would under Earth gravity.

Apollo 12 is often forgotten. A shame, because it has some beautiful 16mm scenes.
