This is mildly amusing:

https://www.ckaleb.com/swapacommie/
What is the #SwapACommie Campaign?
As its name implies, it’s a campaign that aims towards one purpose: To trade away 1st world Internet Communists for hard working 3rd world Venezuelan Capitalists, thus Making the world a better place™.

Is this a serious campaign?
Of course, why wouldn’t it be?

But Kaleb, are you sure you want to cede your spot in that wondrous socialist utopia for a stranger?
A noble sacrifice yes, a burden I along with my fellow Venezuelans would endure with pride so that dozens (or more) Internet Communists can live in the utopia of their dreams.

What's that Naomi Klein said about Chavez's brilliant "21st Century Socialism" made Venezuela to severe economic problems?

Was that in the same book where she claimed that Milton Friedman completely destroyed Chile?

Scavenging food from a landfill is sustainable living leading to maximum utilization for resources.

Eating meat is murder, leading to wasteful food production methods and environmental exploitation.

THE LONG-RUNNING crisis in Venezuela, which has undergone a catastrophic economic collapse even as its authoritarian regime has consolidated power, has now spread across its borders. The president of neighboring Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, said this week that his country’s most serious problem could be the mass influx of desperate Venezuelan refugees: More than 600,000 are now in the country, and thousands more are arriving every day.

It's looking like badly organised version of North Korea. With a porous border.
I have no idea how Colombia can cope with this. Refugee camps?

The store’s deli scales run to only six digits. And ham, my Whatsapp food-hunting community tells me, is retailing nowadays for about 1,480,000 bolivars per kilogram. It didn’t matter that I wanted only a few hundred milligrams. The cost was, at this market at least, incalculable.

Venezuela imposed electricity rationing this week in six western states, as the crisis-hit country's creaky power grid suffered from a drought that has reduced water levels in key reservoirs needed to run hydroelectric power generators.

The four-hour formal outages began on Thursday. But many residents scoffed at the announcement, wryly noting that they have been suffering far more extended blackouts during the last week.

Understatement of the year. You can't even get an aspirin at a Venezuelan hospital now.

The footage that I have seen of their hospitals are hellish and there are no supplies including bedsheets.

If you're terminally ill, you might as well stay home and die in agony in your own bed. At least you'll have sheets and can look at wallpaper you picked yourself.*

* During daytime obviously. As the electricity grid is now going down.

Those kids are just not committed to the principle of equality.

This is why we cannot build a socialist paradise. As soon as you have created equality, those capitalist kids start hogging all the good garbage for themselves.

However, Saab said in a series of tweets that the dead comprised 66 men and two women, who were visiting the prison overnight."

Funny that a candidate proposing "Dollarization" (and apparently an unconditional basic income) is still threatened by the scum in Washington.

Dunno, but it's a good thing Scandinavian countries still top the list.

But... but... Naomi Klein told me that 21st century socialism is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

It also again turned out to be the alternative to sliced bread, which she didn't mention.

"The epidemic plaguing the Warao is a crisis within a crisis, a dramatic example of how Venezuela is failing to grapple with a resurgent AIDS emergency even as the annual number of new H.I.V. infections and AIDS-related deaths around the world continues to decline.

Under President Hugo Chávez, Venezuela’s H.I.V./AIDS prevention and treatment program was world class and the country seemed to have the disease under control.

But during the presidency of Nicolás Maduro, which began in 2013, Venezuela’s economy has crumbled, causing crippling shortages of medicine and diagnostic tests, and compelling many of the country’s best doctors to emigrate."

"Venezuela’s real world currency—the bolivar—long ago fell below the value of the fake gold in Azeroth, the mythical setting of World of Warcraft (WoW). What’s remarkable is how much more valuable that virtual currency has become.

If you factor in the black market rate of the bolivar, though, the difference is even more staggering. Dolar Today, which tracks the black market rate of the bolivar, seems to say the currency’s current value is 636,771.03 per U.S. dollar.

By that figure, WoW gold would be worth nearly 62 times as much as Venezuela’s official currency."

Marco Rubio (R) took to Twitter to say that the world “would support the Armed Forces in #Venezuela if they decide to protect the people & restore democracy by removing a dictator”
I think just about anything would be better then what the Venezualans have got, but I also think any hint of US involvement would be a poison pill for anybody over throwing the current regime.
Best thing the US can do is just keep out of it. A lot of people who would be happy to see the current regime go would not be happy it it was replaced by people seen to be in the employ of the US.

Congratulations to Maduro for winning again! I guess the people of Venezuela really love how he has totally destroyed the country.
