Their press conference was interrupted by Burkman's trash being taken away.
They scheduled their press conference on garbage day. And the cameraman or woman preferred added insult to injury by filming the garbage collectors. I just... wow.

Either this duo is doing this intentionally to entertain or troll people, or they're so incompetent I feel bad for them. It's like watching the terrorist wannabes in Four Lions, except it's real.

Honestly Burkman looks like he's wearing a suit from the Herb Tarlek collection in that article photo.

From that article:

Quote:
Wohl and Burkman were both wearing rainbow-flag pins, and earlier Wohl had told me that “we’re major allies of the LGBT community.” During the question-and-answer period, I asked Burkman how he squared that claim with his attempt to ban gays from the NFL. He said that was “client work.”
"Hey! There's a real bad backlask to our smear attempt on Butigeg, especially from the gay community. Let's put on rainbow pins that will magically make them stop criticizing us! That's how that works, right?"

"Client work"? I wonder how that squares with the historical record.....

Quote:
Washington lobbyist Jack Burkman on Monday said he is preparing legislation that would ban gay athletes from joining the National Football League.

Burkman in a statement said he has garnered political support for the bill, though his statement didn’t mention any specific lawmakers who are behind it.

”We are losing our decency as a nation,” Burkman said in a statement. "Imagine your son being forced to shower with a gay man. That’s a horrifying prospect for every mom in the country. What in the world has this nation come to?”

Burkman said he came up with the idea after college football star Michael Sam publicly revealed he is gay a few weeks ago. If drafted, Sam would be the first openly gay player in the NFL.

Yeah, that's about what I expected.

Sounds like Wohl may have committed a serious crime, and once again, did it in a comically incompetent way.

Did a Far-Right Star Recruit Jacob Wohl to Terrorize Women?

Quote:
Shortly before Tesoriero’s court hearing, Chausovskaya received text messages from a number with a 949 area code in Orange County. Whoever was behind the number wanted to know whether Chausovskaya would be at the hearing.

“Don’t worry, I’ll see you soon,” the text message read. “It won’t be painful. I’m looking forward to watching your soul leave your eyes.”

“I’ll make it my mission to torture you so much that you end up killing yourself,” the writer of the messages added.
...

A search in the TrueCaller app, which collects phone data from users and phone directories, showed the 949 number was associated with Jacob Wohl. The Daily Beast was able to independently confirm the connection. Calls to the 949 number Wohl has used before that threatened to “torture” Chausovskaya weren’t answered. But the evidence of Wohl’s involvement matched what Tesoriero says she heard from Navarro campaign worker Sean Daniel.

Jacob Wohl Wanted on Felony Arrest Warrant

Quote:
A warrant application filed by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office notes that the three-year statute of limitations on the case was set to expire at the end of August 2019, meaning prosecutors had to file by the end of last month if they wanted to pursue charges.
“In 2016 Jacob Wohl and Matthew Johnson represented themselves as members of a company called Montgomery Assets,” the warrant application reads. “On July 27, 2016 through August 27, 2016 Jacob Wohl and Matthew Johnson offered for sale unqualified securities in violation of California Corporations Code 25110 which has a three year statute of limitations and must be tolled by the issuance of an arrest warrant.”

That sound you hear is a lot of the people on the right saying "Jacob Who?".

Yeah, a charge of selling phony stocks, having little to do with politics, might be what puts his fanny in jail rather thin his disgusting political antics.. Sort of like Al Capone and income taxes.
And this guy is not nearly as smart as he thinks he is.He has had zero success, and has become so toxic that even others on the right keep their distance.

Jacob's a great guy, a great guy! He's done a fantastic job. Lots of people don't know that. He's been horribly treated by the Dems who want open borders. They want open borders because Mexico isn't sending us their best; they're sending us rapists, murderers and small pox! Small pox can be prevented by vaccination but the Dems, under Obama, who want open borders, don't care. I'm in favor of vaccinations so Jacob's done a great job! That's what people are saying and I agree.

A return to his roots. He started his career as a grifter with securities fraud. He hold the record for the youngest person to be banned from life from a securities exchange.

This is a pretty stale charge, just under the wire for the 3 year SoL. Wohl has moved on to political grifts now, scamming investors is out of fashion.

That's giving him more credit, there was not much of a scheme here. He just straight up lied to investors about the performance of their investments and was unable to pay them out when they wanted their money. I don't think the scheme went on long enough to even be considered a scheme, he just ripped off some gullible schmuck.

The problem isn't that there are so many stupid people, it's that so many stupid people honestly believe themselves to be very clever.

This.
And even some clever people get badly fooled because they think they are too smart to be fooled.

Oh,I have been a strong advocate for term limits in Congress for a long time....

No, it's not a total solution . But anything that increase turnover, and makes things more competitive is good,
And then there is the chance if someone knows that they will only be congress, at most, for around ten or 12 years, and they can't make a career out of it, they might be more liable to vote on a touch issue in a way the might not make them popular in their district, but will be the best for the country at a whole.

Almost missed his latest Cargo Cult attempt at a scandal where he claimed a 24 year old Marine was in a BDSM relation with Elizabeth Warren. The claims had fallenapart before the “press conference” had finished. No trash collection this time.

And her response is one of the best responses to any smear attempt ever.

But this just doesn't make any sense. What was the point? That her sexual relationship with this guy was somehow a problem? Compared to Trump's attempt to pay off a porn star to avoid having it known he had an affair with her right after his wife gave birth to their child? Somehow, that is a reason to not vote for Warren? It's just weird.

I saw someone who said it's Cargo Cult Politics. They're trying to put together all the pieces they think they need for a political sex scandal, but they don't realize the pieces are all made out of coconuts, and are held together by vines.

Classic Wohl. It's self-parody now.

Consensual kinky sex is bad I guess. Even if it were true, it'd be kinda cool actually, imho. Maybe the angle is that it's wrong because she supposedly paid him. So prostitution.

The fact that the guy couldn't keep a straight face while reading the statement Wohl wrote for him pretty much tells the story.

Slight correction, the affair was right after his wife gave birth to her child.....

Does any think maybe cranking out a bunch of absurd, easily debunked, conspiracy theories is part of the strategy?

Flood the news cycle with this nonsense to distract form real issues and to wear people out. It lets "respectable Republicans" bunch the credible accusations against them and Trump as goofy conspiracy theories.

I can't really tell with these people.

It's hard to imagine such repeat incompetence being genuine. Then again, Wohl's pre-political financial scams were just as cartoonishly stupid.

I don't think it's Wohl or his boot licking father's plan. (NB: His daddy is a Trump adviser). I think its the billionaires bank rolling this. The Wilkes, the Kochs, the Mercers etc etc. They set these idiots going and then have their "more respectable" employees like McConnell and Graham bunch them with Democrats.

Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl just announced they are to hold a press conference with Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff’s former drug dealer.
