Exactly.
A dozen women accuse the president of unwanted sexual advances and the President is caught on tape suggesting that women should be grabbed by the *****. A single accusation is made against Biden and the collective response of the GOP is to look for fainting couches as they hold the back of their hands to their foreheads. |

Just a comparison of Trump’s days golfing vs Obama’s. No surprise Trump has spent much more time golfing than Obama did by this point in their terms of office, and has spent much more taxpayer money to do so. Also not surprising: after frequently attacking Obama spending time golfing, Trump promised to not golf as President.

Not only does this disgusting behavior by Trump tear open old wounds, but one of his earlier tweets added something like "...maybe an affair?"
Not only does her family have to relive the tragedy, her husband is forced to watch Trump tell the world that his wife might have been cheating on him, with no evidence to support that suggestion. Twitter needs to do something about this one. |

For all of the political hacks out there, if I hadn’t done my job well, & early, we would have lost 1 1/2 to 2 Million People, as opposed to the 100,000 plus that looks like will be the number. That’s 15 to 20 times more than we will lose. I shut down entry from China very early! ....One person lost to this invisible virus is too much, it should have been stopped at its source, China, but I acted very quickly, and made the right decisions. Many of the current political complainers thought, at the time, that I was moving far to fast, like Crazy Nancy! |

Doesn't have to be. We can make fun of the idiocy all we want and people with an agenda like CE will keep throwing crap like that all over the place.
If it can trick people, all the better, but it's more about reinforcing bias, distracting from reality, and muddying the waters. Shocking. Really, Trump's so honest that he's only been caught in more than 18,000 lies during his Presidency. |

Jaw dropping but in fact part of his standard operating procedure. Falsely accuse others of what you routinely do every day.
Well, at least we can be assured that all those conservatives who support freedom of speech, even by Nazis and KKK members, will speak up to oppose such a loosening... Given their dedication to the right of people to slur and demean others. |

I understand that according to a Supreme Court decision a sitting President is not subject to civil law actions (i.e. suits) arising from their official duties.
Does any poster here know if they can be sued for actions outside of their official duties? I thought they can be (i.e. if they ram their car into a pedestrian). Would liable by tweet fit within their official duties? Can they be sued after they leave office for actions taken during their term? |

I asked previously for our resident Trump supporters to defend these kind of tweets but...unsurprisingly...not a peep out of them. I think they know there is no excuse, no rational explanation for them other than Trump is a horrible and pathetic excuse for a man who will go to any length, no matter how vile, in the pursuit of being re-elected.
ETA: Twitter has denied his request to remove Trump's tweets about his wife even though they break Twitter's rule against 'targeted harassment'. Jeffrey Toobin, CNN chief legal analyst, suggests that the company is afraid of Trump and his ' right wing trolls'. He also says there really is no recourse for Mr. Klausutis in the courts. |

It's more than just speculation at this point. It's pretty clear that he cannot act in a sane and rational manner - even when he himself would benefit from it. This entire pandemic response has proven that beyond a reasonable doubt. One theme that has been clear and consistent throughout this whole mess is Trump's desire to be seen as The Hero. The guy who rides in, gives the orders, solves the problems, saves the world, and receives the accolades of the masses for it. And the sad part is, he could have actually done all that. He really could have - any one else in his position would have. If, back in January, he'd just listened to the intelligence reports that warned him this was coming, he could have acted swiftly to limit the spread of the pandemic. If, back in February, he'd paid attention to the increasing numbers of infected in the US, and started pushing for limiting travel, and encouraging social distancing, he could have restricted the spread of the virus within the US. If, back in March, he'd taken the lead in coordinating the production of medical supplies, he could have limited the impact the virus had on hospitals and old age homes. If he had taken the lead on providing unemployment coverage for people put out of work, he could have avoided a lot of the economic damage. If he'd shown some leadership in squashing rumors and conspiracy theories, he would have significantly decreased the social unrest that we've seen. If he'd taken the lead on non-partisan steps to ensure the safety of the upcoming election, he would have restored at least some faith in the democratic institutions of the United States. If he'd just done that - not even all of it, even just some of it - he really would have fixed the problems, and been the hero, and deserved the accolades, almost without reservation. But he didn't do any of it. The only reasonable conclusion is that he couldn't do any of it. It's just not in him to take advice, and act in a selfless and charitable manner. |

I think we've hit a watershed moment. Him and his mouthpieces have stopped pretending they're even trying to make sense, and we've stopped pretending we think they're trying to make sense. Now it's all just noise to try to fire up enough voters to squeak through a win in November. |

She seems to be continuing her attacks...
From: Ann Coulter Doubles Down (Yahoo) “At 4:30 in the morning Saturday night — well, technically, Sunday morning — I went on Twitter for the first time in a while and I saw this jackass tweet by our jackass president being a big baby blaming Jeff Sessions for the Russia investigation once again, something that was entirely, 100% his fault,” she explained to host Derek Hunter. So bizarre... everyone knew Trump was disingenuous prior to the election (and if they didn't know it by then, they certainly knew it within a few months of him taking office.) Yet she seemed to support him, at times, and only really went after him over the whole Sessions thing. |

Didn’t Obama, whose Administration has now been caught cold illegally spying on the Trump campaign, recently also get caught playing golf on a course in Virginia, despite his wife Michelle urging people to stay home, before and after his round, in a major public service message?... ....A total double standard. The only thing the Dems have going for them is their very close relationship with the Fake News Lamestream Media! |
