I'm going to be generous. It's possible he means remittance money, the money that immigrants send back to their home country. Trump proposed a tax on remittances to pay for the wall, but I'm pretty sure it was never actually implemented.

How are we going to recognize a cognitive decline in POTUS if this is the baseline?

I keep reading that the Dems aren't coming up with a strong alternative to Trump and that he will crush any of their contenders because they are so bad. In what bizzaro world is Trump better than any of them?

That means they will not be obeying any order to go out and confiscate arms from citizens by President Quid Pro Joe Biden or anyone else. It would be illegal for them to do so. They will be on our side.
Having served as an infantry officer in the guard and enlisted in the regular army I can state the following about your post:

Hahahahahahahah!!!!!!!

First problem. One of the reasons the national guard system was created was to make sure that the idea of the officers being loyal to the states before the country would be eliminated. All the officers require federal recognition and training. The funding comes mostly from the Feds and the states themselves generally don't have complete logistics systems to support the troops without federal support. They can act for a while on their own but will need more than a little funding and support troops that come from other components such as the army reserve which does not have state responsibilities.

Second problem. The national guard is not a law enforcement body. They can be used to back up law enforcement but cannot arrest or charge anyone with a crime. Best they can do on their own is detain somebody so that police can arrest them but that is about as far at this goes.

Third problem. They are not on anyone's side. They are not there to play stupid political games. They won't be running around taking guns but they also won't be running around trying to stop legal authorities from any level of government from doing their jobs.

What you have is a fantasy not based on any version of reality.

"Better" is relative. It's possible he will be better at incessant propaganda that isn't effectively countered.

Only in terms of being electable.

President Trump has a very strong and well defined "brand" with high name recognition.

Too many of the Democratic Party contenders have issues, either they are too old, insufficiently inspiring, are damaged goods (because they can be easily slurred) or some other reason.

Nearly all Republicans will turn out and vote for President Trump and quite a few "independents" who will want to maintain the status quo because life is ticking along OK. OTOH Democratic Party voters need to be wooed. Bernie Bros will not vote for someone they think unworthy; those on the right of the party won't vote for Bernie.

If the Dems are lying 24/7, how often is President Trump lying?

Never
About once per month
About once per week
About once per day
More frequently than that.

Trump Claims Not A Single Member Of The House Or Senate Voted To Impeach Him

Quote:
To say that Donald Trump’s primary eve campaign rally in New Hampshire on Monday night went off the rails is an understatement. In fact, it’s unclear if it was ever on the rails to begin with.

At one point during Trump’s stream-of-consciousness ramble, he claimed that not a single member of the House or Senate voted to impeach him.

Trump somehow assumes his Hunter Biden conspiracy theory is hurting Biden. But that is not what's hurting Biden. His healthcare plan amounts to giving "regular medicare" to all. It's a huge saving to many, but still leaves insurance companies selling supplements to Medicare. Because Medicare only covers so much, and hospital costs are way more than what it covers.

Anyway, his platform is not much different from Hillary. Same old same old. There is nothing radical or exciting about it. He rarely talks "renewable energy jobs" either.

He always has. He was beating the "I won the popular vote if you don't count all those millions of dirty illegal votes" drum the morning after Election Night.

Of course it's Trump so he's also said things which suggest the exact opposite, so... *shrugs*

Figuring out what Trump thinks is hard.

Among Democrats of all stripes, they must end up following the mantra:

“Vote blue, no matter who.”

I hope once a candidate emerges, they can put their differences aside and do what’s right.

Exactly.
I see it as a kind of dog-whistle to the Trumpsters.

Take, for instance, his claim that he "will protect your social security and medicare" while simultaneously attacking those programs through his proposed budget.

He is separating his Trumpsters from the rest of the population by using the "your", in the same way he is separating the members of Congress who voted to remove his repugnant personage from office from "real" Representatives.

His followers eat that up, as one would expect.

Yep. Failure to vote out Trump now will not end well. The trick is to remember this come November. Trump's minions have created a vast propaganda and disinformation campain that will affect people. It's up to each individual to fight back.

This is a horrible and very unfair situation. The real crimes were on the other side, as nothing happens to them. Cannot allow this miscarriage of justice!

I'm going to sorry I posted this. The last time I gave a similar opinion, I got blasted.

It's the world where all the Democratic candidates are perceived to have little or no concern at all for anyone that is not part of their urban voting base. Large numbers of voters see an disdain for the problems of people living in areas where the hospitals have closed, the jobs have gone elsewhere, and the infrastructure has reached end-of-life. I grew up and lived in a place just like that until my 30's. I got out, but an awful lot of folks didn't.

I did not vote for Trump in 2016 and, no matter how bad the Democratic candidate is in 2020, I'll vote for that person. But to label everyone who does a racist homophobe is exactly the kind of thinking that allowed him to win in 2016.

There is such a perception (that the Dems don't care about rural voters), but it's propped up by lies and propaganda. Truth is, it doesn't matter how much the Dems pander to rural voters, this perception will remain because the propagandists on the right have a choke-hold on the rural population. These people will keep voting against their interests because they have been conditioned to do so by the media bubble they inhabit.

That's not a knock on the intelligence of rural voters. It's simply stating the truth.

Their votes are secured via cultural leverage, not through policy.

If the claim is that he doesn’t lie, then why must counter-evidence be recent.
For more than two decades, members of the US military have received annual raises. Each raise is based on the annual increase in the Employment Cost Index (ECI). The raises for the past 10 years have been between 1% and 4%.

In December 2018, President Trump flew to Iraq and talked to some of the troops. In this impromptu address, he said

> “You haven’t gotten one [a raise] in more than 10 years — more than 10 years. And we got you a big one. I got you a big one. I got you a big one. They said: ‘You know, we could make it smaller. We could make it 3 percent. We could make it 2 percent. We could make it 4 percent.’ I said: ‘No. Make it 10 percent. Make it more than 10 percent’ ... And I guess there will be others, too. Would you like one sooner, or do you want to wait another 10 years? I don’t know.”

The actual rise turned out to be 2.6%.

Of course, he may be using the Costanza defense: it isn’t a lie if you really believe it.

In 2018 he claimed that tariffs are making America rich, then though tariffs on Chinese goods are not paid for be the Chinese, they are paid for by American importers, American manufacturers, and/or American consumers.
